Great Features, My icemaker must be broken

GE Profile 25.5 cu. ft. French-Door Refrigerator (PFSF6PKX) —

I looked at so many refrigerators before I selected this one. We were looking for one that had all of the features this one has but in a smaller size. None to be had. We had to do a little carpentry work on a wall to make it fit. It was well worth it. We love the unit. The only problem we seem to have is with the icemaker. It doesn't make enough ice. We don't use a lot, but at the end of the day we like to fill two insulated mugs with ice and water to take to bed. The amount of ice in the refrigerator is not enough to fill the two mugs. I have made sure the unit is level. I have removed the filter and used the filter bypass insert. I have checked the water line. I did notice that the internal module in the ice maker cabinet was improperly inserted and I corrected that. Still the ice production is less than satisfactory. I will be calling Sears Repair soon to see if they have a solution. I will repost when they have completed their work. Looking at the other posts about the icemaker I am going to assume there is something wrong with mine. If they can't fix it, I will be testing their return policy. The next best unit I found that included most of the features I wanted was a Maytag.

I have the same problem! I am no longer under warranty, wish I had acted on this sooner. It is getting worse with age. This week it's made maybe 40 cubes all week!

6/11/06 We have the same problem. The icemaker was replaced once but that did not solve the problem. I am looking for a schematic of the icemaker to check whether there are any adjustments that can be made on it. We have been getting about 28 cubes per day rather than the 100-110 GE promises.
