pretty but is it worth the Price???

I purchased this range just before Thanksgiving and gave it a true workout that day. The warming element was useful and the bridge elements were great for the huge pots we used for the meal, but the cleanup was a nightmare. Every time anyone stirred a pot or so much as touched the stove there were marks,... read full review »

Do Not Buy This Range!

This has to be the worst range I have ever owned! The ceramic top is horrible! My last range was a ceramic top and it lasted for 14 years with very few small scratches. I had this one for 1 WEEK and it is scratched badly from normal use. The hardness of the creamic is not to compare to my last range!... read full review »

If you're used to gas, don't get it

The oven and range are beautiful and the oven cooks beautifully. The oven works well but I never knew how difficult it would be to keep the cooktop clean. In fact I haven't used it much (and I'm an avid cook) because the manual is so particular about how to keep the cooktop clean and safe. Only special cleaners can be used. Only certain cookware can be used. If you spill sugared items, you must clean them up "immediately" with the special cleaner or it could permanently damage the cooktop. If you're used to these type of cooktops then I expect it's great. If you're used to gas, spend the money... read full review »

Versatile range

We recently bought this unit to replace a Jenn-Air downdraft range. The GE Profile cooktop range looks great and is easy to use. The cooktop offers a versatile combination -- 1 of the burners can toggle between small and large size; the left side of the heating element can be run in "bridge" mode where the entire left side of the stove is heated (should be good for griddle pans); and there's a "warming area" in the back. The oven and the range burners heat up quickly and work efficiently. The unit has a quality feel, and the controls are pretty easy to figure out. This oven also offers Delayed/Time... read full review »

Oven Pre-heat time

I like all the features of this GE Profile, especially the bridge element and warming element. However, I'm very unhappy with the length of time that it takes to pre-heat, which is 20 minutes. The manual says that it will pre-heat and beep in 6-8 minutes (which it does), however, the oven temperature is only 250 degrees at that point. It is unacceptable to wait 20 minutes for an oven to pre-heat.
