This is a beautiful looking microwave, good size and good features, but very expensive to repair and unfortunately, its needed it! First, the cover for the vent hood fell off and it cost $200 to replace. Now it has stopped working completely. Given the cost of the item, there is no value. We are likely...

Had this unit installed Jen 2004. Now March 2009 it is dead with an estimate repair cost of $400. Besides that the vent cover that operates automatically when you use the hood option fell of two months ago. That would cost another $120 to repair. I would not go with an combination unit again due to the high repair/replacemen costs.
It was very disappointing to own such an expensive microwave only to have it 'blow up' after 3 years. It was great while it worked, but for that price it should last much longer. I have experienced this with every GE product I've owned (the washing machine and refridgerator have cost me over $250 in service fees when they were only 2 years old). Definately don't recommend.
This microwave starting acting up soon after the warrantee ran out. At first it would only operate at full power for 3 minutes and then shut off for 45 minutes. Then after a month it shut down completely. This one is not worth the price.
Boought this microwave in 2004. 4 years of operation and then the moving vent cover fell off and then the microwave rotated plate stopped working and then it didnt do anything at all. We are using it to store condiments right now.
