After doing an extensive online search, I was attracted to the great online price Sears was promoting for the washer. Using GE's website and informational video convinced me this was the best washer relative to price and features. I was also very happy that my local Sears retail store matched the online... review »

I've had this washer for one month and it smells horrible. Our clothes come out smelling musty. With a family of seven the washer is run everyday so it is not from lack of use. I am returning it this weekend. It also takes AT LEAST 50 minutes to run a load (handwash load is even 42 minutes!) and this... review »

I have only had this washer for two weeks but I'am in love. It is so quiet. Living in Puerto Rico the price of the washer as aboout $100.00 more. Hope to start to see the savings promised in my utility bills. Looks like the clothes are much cleaner.I hope it is trouble free for years to come.

I find that this washer does not clean clothes well, especially over a small load. A feature that is missing is a lint filter, important to those of us with pets(I did not check for this prior to purchase).

We bought our GE Profile HE washer and dryer in July 09. I HATE my washer. It spins the clothes so fast, that everything comes out with hundreds of tiny wrinkles on them. You have dry your clothes fully in order to get rid of all of them, or iron everything. Who has time for that? I do not dry some of my clothes, so in order not to have excessive wrinkling, I have to wash everything on the delicates cylcle which has a slower spin speed, BUT since I'm washing regular clothes on a delicate cycle, nothing gets cleaned so I have to wash twice.

Next thing is the residue. All of my colored clothes come...

Have had one of these GE Profile washers for over a year.  The first one delivered was is such poor working order, Sears graciously agreed to replace it for me.  The current one is on the third motor, plus other major parts.  The replacement parts in the current washer totals twice what the washer costs new (about $1,500 in parts).  The service person said it has replaced motors in many, many GE Profile washers.  He further stated there has been two of these washers that he has already replaced the motor four times.  I guess mine will be the third of his with four motors.  These are...

Although this line of GE Profile top loading washers (GE model numbers beginning with WPRE) is a great design and run very quietly, we have had severe maintenance problems.   In about a year, we have had to replace the transmission TWICE (this is a very expensive part) and two lesser expense parts, including a pressure switch.  My advice is don't buy these washers unless you have an extended warranty or maintenance contract.

I used to have this same washer in Puerto Rico and works great. I love it. I recently moved to Texas and I'm looking foward to find the same washer. We had this whasher since our wedding in sept 29,2009 and works excellent.  The washer works so silence no one knows the whaser was there.

Sincerily,

had this washer for one year.  worked ok at first but now falling apart.  just had a service call and found out parts needed to fix what is wrong will cost about $400 plus labor!  going to have to buy a new washer.  bought the companion dryer also, takes forever to dry.

I have a GE washer that is only 2 1/2 old and it has  already died.  It is not even worth fixing.  I will never recommend or purchase another GE product.

I just took this washer back ~ does not clean well at all. The low water level leaves parts of the clothes dry in the folds ~ after the spin cycle the clothes come out very dry but full of knots and wrinkles! Not happy at all with this product. You can't get clothes clean without water, just doesn't work.

I have just finished using this washer for the first time. I don't really understand all the setting yet but that will come with use. It was quieter than a regular washer normally is. I was pleased with the way it got the water out of the clothes. I think you may have to pick the correct setting to get clothes washed right. The clothes were a bit wrinkled out of the dryer but again I just think it's a matter of getting used to it and adjusting the cycles. I love the sensor size for the wash load, I don't have to guess. The sensor dry on the dryer is great too. My clothes came out dry and not all...

Excellent washing capacity and quality. Noise is low for most of cycle. Love the timer so I can plan to return when wash is done. No water or odor like front loaders but same concept with no agitater!. SAVE YOUR MONEY FOR MORE VISABLE APPLIANCES ... THIS ONE IS A GREAT PERFORMER AND COST IS RIGHT ON!
