I bought this dryer for $540 that included free delivery after rebate.  The dryer dries clothes well, as you would hope to expect from any dryer.  The one problem it has is with the lint filter.  The lint filter is inside the dryer rather than on top (that's not the problem).  The lint filter is...

Buy something else

We bought this dryer because it was top rated by ****************.  We had it for 6 months when it started to make a loud squeaking noise.  It was covered under warranty but after 4 months and three repairs, it's still not fixed.  Save yourself the headache and buy something else.

I am really happy with the performance of this dryer- its very quiet. I think it is a great size, and the choices for cycles are great. I enjoy the drying rack that came with it and the inside is beautiful stainless steel. I like the display with time remaining.

A word of advice to people who don't like to read- READ YOUR MANUEL- and everything should be great!!

Not great

While still under warranty the dryer made a loud grating noise that someone came out and fixed. Now that the warranty is over it is making the sound again - I have to decide whether I think the noise is dangerous or just annoying and whether I should pay someone to come fix it again - then I have to decide whether or not to pay extra to to gaurantee that the fix will really fix it - or just the regular $90 fee and hope that it doesn't break again? Kind of annoying.

Also - the moisture sensor does not work. I just use the timer since things are always damp when the machine things they should...

Good dryer but fix cycle signal!

Only had ours 2 weeks, so I don't know yet about the durability.... Bought this to match our year old GE Profile washer & was thrilled to see I could still buy a matching style. Happy with performance so far, but we live in a small 1 story house & neither of us can hear the end of cycle signal unless we are in the same room as the dryer. I cannot believe it isn't even adjustable so you can make it louder. I have to set another timer, so I know when clothes are dry!

My GE Profile washer is not been a disappointment!

The 4.a IEC cu ft. capacity is truly colossal. It handles our super large loads very easily, and in less time. The RainShower rinse system makes me feel good about doing laundry in a greener way.  It saves 51% in water usage compared to a non-Energy Star qualified GE topload washer.

Did I mention the dreamy silence? the HydroWave with infusor wash system is designed to be incredibly quiet, so my husband and I can watch our favorite shows and have the volume not intrude on our neighbors noise space.

The spin cycle turns so fast....700-RPMs you...

Drying Dream!

This dryer is much more energy efficient than my old 1970s dryer. It uses about 5 Kilowatts for the first load, then uses about 3 Kilowatts for subsequent loads immediately after (when it's still warm). I love how you can tweak the level of dryness for even more energy efficiency. Initially, I was a bit concerned about the digital time remaining function because I felt that this was more technology just waiting to break down. I thought it would increase the likelihood of more repair than needed for a dryer. But, I now really like this time estimate. It helps me to better plan my housework and errands.... read full review »

Problem free

Old Maytag died after 14 years. Did research with Consumer reports and decided on this dryer. Got it about 3 months ago, so far am very pleased. Attractiveness is a plus. Easy to use. Have had no problems so far. Great performance for the price. I'm not one to waste money on a beautiful appliance so others can oh and ah about it. That $ can be used elsewhere. Was concerned about the lint filter but can see no problems so far. I always buy from Sears when I need appliance, they give you choice plus seem to have lowest prices.

Puts grease stains on laundry

Dries pretty well (on timed cycles), but adds greasy stains to laundry. GE Customer Service and techs say that they have not seen this issue with other customers. However, I have had two different units over the past 7 months (built in two different factories), and both have eventually begun to add greasy stains to my otherwise clean laundry. This staining is caused by disintegration of the slides on (and fibrous gasket against) which the drum turns. The liberated slide material is then admitted to the drum by the failed gasket, and gets on to the laundry. (Removing these stains takes a lot of... read full review »

GE Profile Dryer

OK, so the nickname doesn't totally match. I've had this dryer for 6 yrs and it has been great. No wrinkles on the clothing if you remove them right away and it has a wrinkle mode if you can't get them right away. It also has a 15 min dewrinkle cycle that works great. Mine has the electronic board with push sensors and they are cracking. I hear the board is expensive, so I'll probably get a new machine when it goes, glad they don't have that anymore. I adore the fact it tells you how long before the load will be dry, you can plan your other things around that and know exactly when the clothes will... read full review »

They do not make them like they used to!

Wonderful capacity but useless. If you fill it, with max heat and max minutes, you'll need to add about another 40-60 minutes to get clothes dry. To only do one 70 minute cycle, I make sure to have no more than 4 towels, 2 pairs of jeans and no more than 8 clothing items size 2T. Otherwise, I must add minutes.

Fast and Easy

This dryer is excellent in its capacity, easy front load design, very fast drying time, and multiple setting options. At first I was concerned as the lint screen seems to be a flimsy design but its placement is perfect for fast and easy cleaning with each load. I have not seen the problem with grease spots that one writer complained of. I am very happy with this produce and would reccomend it without reservation.

5 stars

Works well. Large capacity. Quiet. Very satisfied after first two months of use.

2 months & going

I had to replace our 5yo Whirlpool due to some excessive handling by the movers 2 years ago. I bought this dryer based on price (holiday sales), capacity vs outer dimensions and for the very long standard warranty. It's quiet and handles various load types. For example the bulky dog bed and our bedspreads fit and dry easily. On the flip side, my small load of delicates doesn't get overdried. The only thing I do not like is the lint catcher. It seems a lot of lint sneaks by it so we'll have to be viligant about cleaning inside the dryer & vents...which we should be doing regularly anyways. One small... read full review »

Works the way it should be!

PROS: Drying cloths very nicely. Moisture sensing really helps saving energy. Time display is a simple neat feature. Though the time shown when the start of the cycle may not be exactly the time that would be taken for completing the cycle. Based on the moisture left on clothes cycle might be done sooner than the initial time shown. But the display accurately updates with the new time left to dry before the completion of the cycle. Ultimately saves energy and safe for clothes. Good drying capacity. Smooth dials. Good enough number of drying cycles. CONS: Lint collection net could have been better.... read full review »
