GE Profile Advantium 30" 1.2 cu. ft. Microhood Combination Microwave Oven (SCA1000H) —

I purchased the Kenmore Elite model (Advantium 2.0) in November 2005.  Sears installed it.  The interior light went out within 12 months.  The microwave itself stopped working last week (used for 4 years mostly to heat frozen dinners).  Used convection portion couple of times a year.  Was heating something using convection setting  when the unit just stopped working.  Have Sears repair coming out tomorrow ($129 plus parts to fix).  I had the GE model in another home and liked it better, but it was only 2 years old when I moved.  For the price, this was a disappointing product.

Update: It cost about $160 to fix this unit.  The repairman knew right away what was wrong.  He was also nice enough to install the light bulb I had purchased a couple years ago but couldn't figure out how to install (came with no directions nor was there anything I could find on line to tell me how to replace the bulb).

I have the same model. I used the convection oven the first time in Feb 2009 same thing happened so till I paid for service and parts it cost $191. Just tried to use it again today 12/13/09 and guess what? same thing totally died. This time it going in the trash... I will not but a Kenmore ever again. Also don't buy the kenmore trio fridge.
