“Buyer Beware - Not Dependable”
Have had one of these GE Profile washers for over a year. The first one delivered was is such poor working order, Sears graciously agreed to replace it for me. The current one is on the third motor, plus other major parts. The replacement parts in the current washer totals twice what the washer costs new (about $1,500 in parts). The service person said it has replaced motors in many, many GE Profile washers. He further stated there has been two of these washers that he has already replaced the motor four times. I guess mine will be the third of his with four motors. These are new motors going in these machines - not refurbished ones. My last one lasted only one wash cycle - then went out. Will call tomorrow to schedule yet another service call.
There is an obvious, yet unknown, design flaw with the GE Profile washers. I cannot recommend this washer at all. If you don't heed my warning, do yourself a big favor and buy a very long extended warranty.
PS: If you buy this washer - save your quarters since you will need them for all of your trips to the laundrymat while you are waiting for service, then parts, then service, then parts, then service..........
