Been living witht this washer for some time now and I really do not like it. (Nor does ****************.) Makes crazy noises, cannot handle large loads. Doesn't save me water because I must always run a second rinse cycle. A poor choice on my part....

This is the biggest piece of junk we have ever owned! We purchased the WPRE6150K2W2 about 8 months ago, along with the matching dryer. (which we just finshed pying off) I am ashamed of myself that it took me this long to figure out what was going on. The washer leaves lint on all of my dark colored clothes! I have to wash them in very small loads and 2 or 3 times to get it all off. I hate this washer - and will tell everyone I know what a piece of junk it is.

One important feature I wanted for my clothes washer was a gentle cycle that was actually gentle! This model has a "handwash" cycle that is very gentle to the clothes, yet gets them clean.

This washer is located on the second floor of a town house. It is much quieter than my old washer. My desk is about 8 feet from the washer; I can make telephone calls while the washer is operating and hear just fine.

The washer has enough cycles to handle all my laundry needs, yet it is easy to operate.

Purchased this washer along w/matching dryer in February 2010. Wanted to go w/HE this time around, being energy efficient and having more room due to no agitator.....BIGGEST MISTAKE WE EVER MADE!!!! Never noticed any problems, other than my husbands work clothes never smelled that fresh. Now, we're not a couple who ever really gets our clothes extremely dirty, other than the occasional "yard work", but no rolling around in dirt/mud, etc., so everything seemed to be doing fine until my son started school (I was a stay @ home mom for 4.5 yrs, so there was never any major dirtyness w/his clothes either). Load, after load, after load, his clothes were not coming out clean - even with my always trusty stain remover. I switched stain removers 3 times over several months and nothing was working - and I'm not talking about grass/juice/paint stains, just MINOR dirt marks where he rubbed his hands on his shirt/pants. The last "gel" stain remover I started using, which I'd figure...

That washer does not even wet the top of the load of clothes. Water drain and same of the clothes are still dry and of course dirty. After 5 weeks of trying returned back to the store - no problem here, excellent service. We exchange it for Fisher&Paykel, the best washer I ever had.

The unit worked fine for six months, then began making occasional loud clacking noises during the spin cycles. Since the noises came and went and didn't seem to affect the spin or cause the unit to shake, I let it go. A couple weeks after the noises began, the unit simply stopped washing. It would fill with water and then just sit...empty...refill for the rinse...just sit...then empty.

Had Sears service been more prompt I might not be complaining now, but I was told it would take them two weeks just to come out and look at the unit, and never mind whether or not it could actually be fixed then.

Having the Sear service department behind the unit was a big reason for me to buy from Sears. But that's apparently not a good reason to shop at Sears anymore as they seem not to have the manpower anymore to keep up with the service calls. I'll write more after the service call happens, but at the moment I doubt I'll buy another major appliance from Sears, if they can't be counted on when...

Purchased machine on 5/12, delivered on 5/19, spin cycle stopped working on 6/17. Brand new machine will not spin water out of clothes. Less than one months' use and service call required. Disgusted and dissappointed with lack of durability and craftsmanship for ~$600

The goal was to replace inefficient energy consuming older appliance with new, quiet, efficient, greener machine. I am now impatiently waiting for repair service!

Mom of 3 kids under five here, doing laundry daily -- as you can imagine, with 3 small children and 2 adults, things can get pretty messy. I bought this washer for its larger capacity (it doesn't have the central agitator that older models all had), variable settings (including extra rinses and pre-wash soaking), and the visible timer which tells you how long you have left in your wash cycle. All of these features would be fabulous to a mom like me who must wash lots of separate loads. (Remember, with 2 kids who are not potty-trained yet, and a baby whose skin baby detergent, I have to do separate loads.)

However, the following MAJOR design flaws mean that I do not get the benefit of ANY of these potentially good ideas!

1- The water sensor consistently misjudges my load, giving me a much smaller water level than needed. In 9 out of 10 loads, half of my clothes are completely dry above the waterline. This happens when I have any size load above a very small one, so even half-loads of light...

This is an excellent machine. It is quiet, cleans well, holds an amazing amount of laundry and won't have the mold problems associated with front loaders. I suspect the problems in other reviews stem from overloading and using the incorrect detergent. You must use HE detergent. Also, read the manual about loading. You cannot load anything over the "agitator" in the middle. Even so, this machine holds much more than my previous, super-capacity Kenmore. As for cycle length, mine are typically running about 45 minutes for fairly large loads. The high speed spin extracts more moisture, so loads require less time in the dryer. Only downside is the manual; it does not explain all the options and controls.

I purchased the this washer and matching dryer about a month ago and it is wonderful I love how easy they are to use and how quiet they are. I love the Auto selection for water, rather than having to figure out if the load size is med, large or extra large. I am very happy with my purchase.

Most washing machines these days are all computerized and can be confusing to use. This machine is simple and gets the job done. My last machine was digitalized and it broke within 2 years. I like the dials on this machine and the fact that it's not computerized. You can control the amount of water you want instead of the machine's sensor. If you want the option of auto-fill this machine has it too.

This washer is very hard on clothes, even when the gentle cycles are used. It beats underwire bras into unnatural shapes, pulls decorative items off of clothes, and in general is horribly hard on clothes.

I love my GE Profile. One thing that I have found about it, and most HE machines, is that you must use the right amount of HE detergent, load it properly, select the proper cycle, and let it be while it washes. Trust that it will work as designed. Too many people want to run extra rinses and spins because they don't trust that a machine that uses so little water and no agitator could clean their clothes.

I have successfully washed bulky bedding, delicates, my King size comforter, drapes, my toddler's heavilty soiled clothes. This washer does a great job.

The only serious flaw is that the machine's appearance attracts people who are looking for a traditional conventional washer. This machine is far from conventional. With these units, and other HE machines, the days of throwing whatever in to the washer, however you want to pack it in, and pressing start are over.

Be smart. Be careful. Follow directions. The machine will treat you well.

I purchased this washer from a competitor, and immediately knew it was working properly. Repair man was sent out within 2 days and the motor needed to be replaced. Because this washer was brand new I didn't want to have it fixed so I opted to have another delivered the following week. HUGE mistake....this washer is not working properly either! It catches water and spins well...but it does not wash. It doesn't aggetate at all. I literally folded a rag and placed on top of the clothese in the washer and it was still in the same place after 52 minutes of wash time. I have wasted more time over the last week and a 1/2 than I had, and now tomorrow I will be washer shopping again. I sure wish I had read these reviews before I purchased this washer. I promise I would have listened!

First one was replaced within a week. This because it choked on any size load larger than a few shirts. When it would go into the spin cycle, it sounded more like a freight train than a washing machine. Following and/or during the spin cycle, a massive amount of water would leak from below. Second one - same story. It sounds like a great deal - high capacity, top load, no agitation, decent price - it just doesn't get worse than this machine. Buy it and I'll promise you two things: one - you'll spend a lot, a lot of time, rewashing laundry, rewashing again, putting it on drain and spin multiple times and they still won't be ready for the dryer and two - you'll spend a lot of time on the phone trying to get it replaced and/or repaired. All that said, Sears has been great on the customer service end.

GE Profile Washer wpre6150h1wt On spin, any significant imbalance in the clothes results in a huge disabling banging and damage to the washing machine. We have had it beat itself to death several times resulting in numerous service calls and service contract extensions. Never had this level of problem with other GE washers. There is no automated cutoff, alarm buzzer, or adequate suspension for the basket. Don't buy.
