Most Helpful Critical Review

Not what I would expect from a GE product...or maybe I'm not in the know. The motor died after three years of use in a two-person household. Replacing the motor will cost a whopping $250, more than half the cost of the machine. Customer service at GE was equally disappointing -- I received a lecture...

Top Notch Energy Efficient Washer

Bought the GE WPRE8150K White 4.1 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer in combination with the GE White Profile 7.0 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer - DPSE810EGWT

I have to admit that it was the style and the LED read out that first attracted me to it. Then on closer inspection, the build quality and energy savings. Most of all, I love the Precise Fill Auto-Load Sensor: which automatically measures the load size and add just the right amount of water

Given that our previous washer and dryer were on deaath's door, the difference is enormous. But as you use it, you start to realize how wasteful the older appliances were....

This washer SUCKS!!

I have no qualms with Sears; it's a great store. I just wanted people to be forewarned about this horrible washer. My husband and I did not buy it (thank God because it's a waste of money). It was provided to us by our apartment complex free-of-charge. We have our own washer that we took with us when we sold our home and the apt. complex provided free storage for it.

Basics: this washer does NOT fill up with enough water to even wet the clothes. Numerous times I have looked in during the cycle and the clothes are just lying on top of a damp heap. I have a gallon bucket that I use to fill up water...
