Lockedprogramming light to stay on longer?

Is there a way to have the bulbs stay on longer when the garage door is opened/closed?  Right now, the lights go off when I open the car's door; that's the worst time, especially at night.

The light will stay on for 4.5 minutes after opening or closing.  You could buy a wall switch with a light button on it if you want to keep the light on.

If you have a multifunction wall control with the light switch you can change the lenght of time that the light stays on.  The factory preset is 4 1/2 minutes.  It sound like it has been changed to something shorter.  See your owners manual  to reprogram.  If you only have a door bell type wall control then press and hold the programing button on the back of the opener until the LED light goes out.  You will have to relearn all of your remotes and Key-less entry but this will reset the lights to stay on 4 1/2 minutes.  You can buy and upgraded wall control from Sears that has a motion detector on it.  As long as you are moving around in the garage the lights will turn on hands free and stay on until you stop moving.  Then they will turn off after 4 1/2 minutes.
