Garage door opener not working frojm remote control or car. Wil go down wuityh wall switch, but comes right back up

Make sure nothing is blocking the door from going down all the way because if there is something there it can cause the door to go right back up.

We just bought a house that has a craftsman opener, we do not have the remotes, which I understand we can buy replacements, we are concerned that the old openers may still work.  Is there a way to make the previous owner's openers no longer work?

HI  i have the garage door open. craftsman.1/2hp. model139.535006 serial 4261bo1163   pat3.445.848     I  need kee pad opener  stanley model 2696 or.      is there any other keypad i can use?  my is it  broken.
