LockedGarage door opener does not open door.

posted on January 27, 2010 at 08:35PM Inappropriate?

My garage door opener does not open the door one of my two garage doors. You hear a clicking noise when using the remote or button on wall. I notice the light on the garage door opener was blinking (next to the red button on it) I have another garage door opener and the light is steady. So I have not found out the reason this is happening. At one point the garage door opener did work but not now.(at least not for a week or two) HELP!!!

Hi krems1!  You may want to try the Craftsman Garage Door hotline.  They are very helpful, and there are lots of troubleshooting tips, available.  You will want your model number handy before you call.

Krems1,  The blinking LED is giving you a code.  Count the number of blinks and refer to the diagnostic section in your owners manual.  If you don't have your owners manual then you can get one at manage my home.com.  This will get you started.  Reply once you find out and we'll go from there.

prestonnewton,  Sears makes remotes for GDO's that go back to 1979.  Call Sears parts direct with the model number of your GDO and they will be able to sell you the right one.

TheEd,  No, you will need the correct sensors for the model opener that you have.  Those are the black and white wires.  Get your model number and order the right sensors from Sears Partsdirect.  Then take a look at your owners manual on Sears Managemyhome.com.  You will find the wiring directions in the manual.
