1/2 hsp craftsman garage door opener

This is the worst product ever!   It's not even a year old and is starting to fall apart.  Went on line and noticed many, many people are having trouble with this same product.   Maybe you should look a little closer and evaluate the problem or just discontinue the product.  It's not worth the room it takes up in the store.  Every complaint I read was about the 1/2 horsepower Craftsman garage door opener.  Anyone out there listening?

Almost all the Craftsman garage door openers have 1/2 horsepower motors. Could you provide a model number?

You got your chain drive, belt drive and screw drive units.

They're all built by an established quality OEM.

Did you have the opener Professionally installed, or was it DIY'd?

The new 1/2 HP GDO's have replaced the old standard 1/3 HP openers.

Is your garage door easy to open and close manually?

The Garage Door "springs" are supposed to be doing most of the work for the opener.

If any of the springs are in need of replacement, THAT will greatly affect the longevity of any Garage Door Opener.

A Professional installer will evaluate a Customer's Garage Door, before even opening the store purchased opener's box.

Good luck with your new opener.

I tried ordering a new belt for my Craftsman door opener model # 139.53964SRT and serial # 47293C00114. I explained I have an eight foot door instead of the standard 7 foot door. They mailed me the seven foot door.

Question: Do you still offer the belt drive for an eight foot door or do I have to buy a new unit with chain drive?

Thanks! Ben

I need to purchase a new garage door opener system.  I have two 8' doors.  The house was built 30 years ago, so we need the basic door opener..without any sensors by the doors.  Does Sears still sell these types of door openers?

What are the pro & cons of the chain vs. belt (screw too expensive)?

Been told that the Craftmen are built by Chamberlain, so why big difference in cost.

Looking for full system with the keypad, 2 remotes, drive, etc.

I've had my 1/2 HP for 13 years and what needs to be replaced is the remote because I lost it. Otherwise an excellent product.
