“Destroyed itself the first time it got rained on.”
This Laurel Park 12x10 gazebo looked great, loved the built in bar and the stools that came with it. Before purchasing it, I went comparison shopping and read the reviews online - all favorable. So I purchased the gazebo online and waited for it to be shipped to my local store. I spent the next couple of weekends making my deck bigger to accomodate the gazebo, and when the gazebo arrived I spent another weekend putting it together. It looked fantastic. That was in the middle of July.
8 weeks later in the third week of September, the gazebos roof has caved in, the support arms for the roof snapped, and tore the canopy to shreds. We had a mild rain last night - nothing anywhere near enough to justify damage to anything. I've noticed the canopy collecting water before - but the rain last night was so light - it didnt seem to warrant worrying about it.
This gazebo suffers from a bad design, combined with cheap inferior materials - this gazebo is not worth the cost, the time, the effort, or the dissappointment. With a pricetag of approx. $400US it is not a cheap item, and I expected something more durable. If I wanted something disposable I could've picked up some $20 umbrellas at my nearest home center and used them for a year or two.
This is definetely not worth the $400+ that it cost - for 7/8 weeks use - it's not even worth 1/8 of the cost....with all the work I had to put in to owning this thing - I feel like somebody should be paying me for my time.
