I have a LIFAN pro-series 7000 6.5kw.  I ran it for about 6 hours.  I had my lights on it and a hot water heater on it.  The Switch on the gen was set to 120/240 setting.  about six hours the lights went out and I thought I ran out of gas but when I went out the engine was running fine.  None of the circuit breakers tripped.  There is a fuse behind the pannel and it was fine.  I used a multimeter and checke the main power (red and black) and only got 2.8 volts.  I think the main gen is bad.  Is that right and if so what would cause it burn out like that without any of the fuses or circut breakers tripping?  Where can I get parts for this thing?  Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you tried www.searspartsdirect.com, desertknight?  You may be able to find the parts you are looking for there.

You plug-in the machine model number into the site, and hopefully, a parts diagram and list of parts and prices pops up on the screen.

The low voltage is indicative of a bad capacitor. Call 1-479-471-7464 to locate a service center near you.
