I got me a blast from the past!

Would you believe there's still a Craftsman 80th Anniversary ratchet on close-out sale, on the Internet?

Yes!

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/search_10153_12605?vName=Tools&keyword=craftsman+80th+anniversary&sLevel=0

I found it difficult to believe.

But, there it was...

For only $39.97, plus applicable tax I got a Craftsman midnight-black thin-profile ratchet, in a wooden Laserfied engraved box, dated piece of Sears history coming in the mail (free shipping when I had it ordered from the store) to me.

This gift has special significance to me, as I was still rebuilding this type and other Craftsman ratchet, during the 80th Anniversary year, as a store PMT.

But, anyone should really enjoy receiving one of these as a special gift.

Stock is limited to quantities on hand (being a close out item).

That's pretty cool!  Would you actually use it or keep it in the case?

Although the tool has the standard Craftsman lifetime, scratching it would greatly reduce its collectadness.

So, I'm probably going to keep this beauty in its case.

I got some gold tools, too - that definitely should be kept "cased".

The ratchet "has arrived".

It is so majestic.

Midnight Black titanium colored ratchet, on a rich/deep burgundy bed and inside cover, of a natural finished Cherry wood box, with the original 1927 - 2007, 80 YEARS - Special Edition logo and Craftsman rectangular logo LASER engraved on the top of the wooden box's lid.

Inside there are the inscriptions of: Titanium Series, Made In USA, 2007 Limited Edition.

The ratchet has the series number, along with the Anniversary logo etched into the midnight-black handle.

There's even the little parchment card describing the tool.

And, on the card - it's described as 22k Gold.

An error card!

Priceless...

This is a "must-have" for any dedicated Craftsman tool enthusiast.

I'm going to put it carefully away now, joining some of my other Craftsman tool collectibles...

If I add this to my other collectable tools, I have about an intermediate chest's worth of pretty/ shiny tools.

Many, in wooden cases.
