We had to replace a standing freezer that was lost in a recent flood. I love the fact this appliance gives us an extra refrigerator space as well. We just have to be careful about what we place on the bottom of the 'fridge compartment because is can get cold enough to start to freeze. Other than that,...

We received the first one after one missed appointment (due to calling my wife's cell phone and not calling the home phone).  It was setup and when we checked it that night it was warm inside.  We also noticed that the door would not shut by itself - it should be noted that according the manual you...

PIECE OF JUNK

We have owned for 3 years.  For the past 2 years, freezer has not been able to keep a deep freeze.  Warranty has expired.  Junk.  Junk.  JUNK!

We bought this freezerator in july 2004.  We use the bottom as a freezer and the top as extra refrigerator/drink storage space.  We love it.

We have a normal side by side refrigerator in our kitchen.  The freezer is too narrow for many items and this allows us to buy the frozen items we used to do without.

We have noticed that stuff placed on the bottom self in the top might freeze (no matter how the controls are set), so place liquids on the top shelf.  We buy extra milk and store the jug on the top shelf here until we are ready to use it in the regular refrigerator.  The extra cold extends...

I've had my Freezerator for 2 years now and overall happy with it. On the plus side, it is roomy and no issues with condensation. It works well and it keeps things frozen even in my garage even in 100+ degree heat. You have the option of not using the wheels, but I have found it very handy to easily move it when needed.

The Freezerator does have a couple issues: 1) The knob in the upper compartment is difficult to turn. I actually have to remove the screw that holds the temperature contol assembly in place to adjust the temperature. I keep it set to keep drinks cold so I don't have to adjust...

Do NOT Buy This Freezer!

We should have never gave our old freezer away.  It was 15 years old and never had a problem.  But, we had to have something updated..  :( This freezer is a convertable freezer/frige which we were very excited about. It worked fine during the normal operation of the fridge on the bottom and the freezer on the top.  As soon as we decided to stalk the freezer with $1,600.00 of food and conver the fridge on the bottom the coil froze and we lost the entire delivery of food!  We called sears and of course we were out of our 1 year warranty and they could send us a tech between the hours of 8 am...

Knowing the quirks of the Gladiator

We had problems when we first got the Gladiator. The refrigerator part wouldn't do anything but freeze. It took THREE repairmen to come out to correct the issue...which was a cross-wiring of the refrigerator section on the top...AT THE FACTORY. The fridge/freezer part works independently and just fine, now. It took the right repairman who knew what he was doing to fix the problem. It's been running for four flawless years since, and we're very happy with it, thinking about getting another one.

I love the way the gladiator refirgerator/freezer looks in the garage and after purchasing it was hooked on the gladiator storage system.  We own every item in the gladiator system

3 year old Gladiator

We purchased our Gladiator freezer / fridge in June 2005 online from sears.com. We did not get an extended warranty. For three years it worked fine - the refrigerator worked as a beverage cooler and the freezer worked as a deep freezer. We keep this in our unheated garage in upstate New York where it is subject to great extremes of heat and cold, and it worked well whether outside temperature was 0 or 100. In July 2008 the freezer slowly warmed until it and the refrigerator would not keep temperature below 50. We called Sears service, knowing the product was out of Whirlpool's one year warranty.... read full review »

Glad-Irritator

We bought this unit almost 3 years ago for a new house we built, to use as a Garage Fridge. We have never used it as totally, one or the other, just a freezer on top and fridge on bottom. It is hot & humid here in the South and we thought that this would be just the ticket for Dear Husband's cold beer as it is near his work shop, also. So far, we have had problems with the freezer and the fridge parts of this unit. The gasket around the freezer (top) part has been replaced 3 times now, and it still forms ice around the door. Repairman and store where we bought it [furniture store]have given up... read full review »

Freezerator

We've had our Freezerator for 2 years and have had more problems than it's worth. Ice builds up in the top compartment where the fan is located, causing the fan to actually hit the ice making a very loud grinding sound. Left unchecked the fan will stop completely! Called for repair and the Tech came out and took it apart & simply chipped the ice off. Imagine paying for that service call... Had to have a relay replaced also. Drain tube from the top compartment continues to freeze preventing the water to drain to the pan. Of course there is no way to access this tube so you have to unplug the entire... read full review »

Doesn't work as a dual - system!

At first we liked the freezer- refrigerator. We had a hard time regulating the top, and then ice built up in the top area and it no longer works a a refrigerator. We removed the ice and everytime we place liquids, especially beer, it freezes. I am calling sears for a repair. It has been 1 1/2 years and I feel it does not do what it is was intended to do.

Don't waste your MONEY

We have had this freezer for almost three years. Nothing but trouble. The conversion doesn't work well. Today I came home and it no longer works at all. Don't buy or you will be sadly disappointed.

good product

My recommendation is if you are really going to use the refrigerator part for anything besides soda and the like than don't get this one, the temperature in the fridge gets varied somehow by exterior temperature and doesn't regulate itself, but it is good construction for a garage freezer and overall satisfied. Was surprised by the difficulty with just keeping items from freezing in the refrigerator.
