Living in the New England area with all the terrible roads anyway, the noise is really no factor since they are bigger tires comparing SUV's and Passenger cars. Great grip on the road an I would recommend this tire to anyone who lives in rainy and icy weather. If you buy online, just remember the extra fees you will have to pay when you get to Sears that aren't online. The online option does not include disposal fees and valve stems.
These Goodyear TripleTred Tires are the Best Tires I have ever owned. They are durable, quiet and reliable. Excellent in rain and snow. I haul a boat and these tires deliver the traction and power I need. Love them so much that when first set needed replaced, after 4 years of very heavy use, it was a no brainer. The ride they deliver is smooth and quiet.
They are the perfect tire.

I just came back from Sears Auto Center after purchasing 4 new Triple Tred's for my 05 Subaru Outback Wagon. The first thing I noticed was the sound. A whiney sound that changed depending on the surface I was driving on. I don't like it. I had Michelin's on it and the ride was kind of soft - the Triple Treds feel harder. But I did notice the handling of the car was different - tighter - like the tire was grabbing the road. So we will see how this turns out.
Noisy??? I don't what's wrong with the Tacoma, but these are the most quiet tires I've had on my Durango. I have 100,000 miles on it and these make the third set of tires. They provide a smooth ride and excellent traction. I'm very happy with them.
Thought I'd try Triple treds due to the newness of the design. It took 3 and 1/2 hours for sears to mount them on my tacoma, WOW !. They finally settled me up and I drove the truck out of Sears shop ? I immediatly noticed these tires are noisy. Really make more noise than Michelin tires I've used on my 1991 tacoma (they were great). I guess I am stuck with these but in a year i will bite the bullet and buy myself some Michelin LTX4'S as I really do not like listening to whiny tires!.
I got these tires for my wife's 4WD Mazda Tribute. They've been through two NorthEast winters and heavy summer rain. They perform excellent. There is some road noise but no where near as much as from the Nokian truck/SUV tires I run on my Nissan. I'll take the superior performance over a little road noise any day. I also got these on a super special deal. reg $160 and I paid $110 ea. Diligence from flipping through tire sales flyers for two months paid off.
I thought these tires were very expensive. I bought them on a recamendation from a friend but, they are well worth it. Exellent traction in rain and snow,ice. I drive a SUV,they are fairly quiet which makes driving with them nice. If you can afford them its a must BUY!
