Goodyear WEATHERHANDLER LS - P195/75R14 92S BSW —

I am not too happy with my Goodyear WeatherHandelers.  I got a set of these on my Hyundai Tucson.  Immediately I noticed that the ride was noticeably rougher.  At highway speeds the car jitters and shakes now.  I have had these tires rebalanced numerous times with no change.

The interstate road noise is very loud with these tires.  I can barely talk to my passengers!

On the plus side, these tires handle as good as the Kumo's that were on it and stop quickly.  On take off in the rain, however, these tires will tend to spind.  I have a four-banger in the car so this shouldn't happen so much!

I do a lot of interstate driving and the shaking, rough ride and LOUD road noise is really too much to bear from a premium priced tire.  I would definitely consider something else before buying these, or any Goodyear product.

I replaced the OEM Michelin tires that on my Hyundai Entourage Limited van with Goodyear Assurance Weatherhandler 235 60R-17's and didn't notice any difference in road noise. In fact I think they might be slightly quieter. I had these Goodyear's at over 90 MPH for a short test and there was only more wind noise, which is expected. I have a slight tire balance shimmy at around 75 MPH but I had this too with the OEM's that was much worse and took "road force balancing" to correct 90% of the problem. This balance issue is mostly due to my fancy rims not allowing weights to be installed on the outside lip, so "stick-on" weights have to be inserted about an inch inside the rim and that's not as effective at correcting out-of-balance problems. Plus the "shimmy" is very slight with the Goodyear's so I can live with it since it's about the same after regular "spin balancing" as the Michelin's were after being road force balanced for $40 per tire.

Could be just one of those tires in that set --may be problem from that particular batch ..also -one question--is that suv car or truck based ? -as these are car tires -and though the car manufacturers often put car tires on the suv's for ride quality to help sell the car -if it's a truck based vehicle you should actually put on a truck tire .after a bit of re-adjusting to them ,you would be far more happy with the result. Then again I don't know if that suv you have is car or truck based. Also check around for the truly best inflation psi for that vehicle / combo ,as manufacturers of the suv are good at recommending too low a pressure --again for ride's sake.
