I love this car seat. I even have the stroller, additional base and the swing attachement. My only complaint is the handle folding mechanism. You have to use two hands and it's not always easy to get around both sides when you're in the vehicle. Did you know the handle MUST be down for the seat to function properly in a collision? Yes, it does. We had the Sheriff Department install this seat and the additional base in our cars and he explained all the features and functions. I was "forced" to buy this carseat when I didn't pay attention and bought the stroller base that only fit snugride carseats. I am very glad that I did. I love the canopy - it is bigger than my second carseat had and covers a lot of sun. I also love the headrest - it fits my son very well, when others hadn't worked so well for my other boys. I love the green tea color and it comes out of the base very smoothly, which is important when the baby is asleep. The handle moves well and fairly easily up and down - not too easy, which wouldn't be good, either!!
We looked at several infant carseats to get the best value for our money and this Graco model was the best. And, it's on SALE now. We paid full price and it was still worth it. I don't think you can bargain away your child's safety. It was a breeze to put on our SUV and believe me, if I can do it . . . you can do it too! I thought that the light green color with the navy accents would go well for either a boy or a girl and it doesn't dirty easily. It has held up so well that I will be able to use it with my next child.
There are two things that we do not like about our graco snugride carseat. FIrst, there are just two elastic bands that fasten the carseat cushion or fabric to the body of the carseat. I think that it appears cheap because of this. Also the shader part does not seem very durable. It just snaps on to the sides, and it comes off very easily. I am affraid that it might break soon. However, neither of these things relate to the saftey of the seat. The overall product seems well built, and it is easy to carry.
I bought this seat (as well as the matching duo glider stroller) and love both! I think the pattern is sharp, there is very little 'assembly', and its so sturdy! The canopy is great, not flimsy like some other ones, but also easily removeable. The fabric is easy to wipe clean...a must with a baby! The seat is light to carry, but durable. Installation was a breeze, even 8 months pregnant! Overall a great seat. I highly recommend it.
Our baby loved taking rides in the car in this seat. He appeared comfortable, and either slept or smiled when in the seat. We were never in an accident, but many reviews listed this as one of the safest infant seats. Small cover was handy when it was raining or too sunny. Directions state to lower the handle when driving, but when not driving, we used to hang a small toy from the handle to keep the baby preoccupied.
So far I've only used this carseat with my niece and so far so good. It has the EPS foam and is a great price for something that the baby will use only for 6-8 months. Nice neutral colors but I'm a little worried that the black fabric will get too hot and I am having a summer baby...but I am using the JJ Cole infant support that will hopefully help with that. Other than the black fabric, I'm happy so far.
This is the second Graco seat I have bought because I loved our first one so much with our first son. They are easy to install and transfer, and they work so well with the Graco strollers. I really like this new "Green tea" pattern.
