I just bought this weed eater, it use to take me 45 minutes to weed eat my yard with my old unit, now it takes me 2 1/2 hours to do the same weed eating with the new weed eater.
The line on my old unit was thicker and easy to load. On this new unit you are having to change the line every few minutes it is not as thick, it is very difficult to feed the line through the holes on the new weed eater head, the holes are too small. I cannot recommend this unit to anyone since I found it very difficult to get the job done in a timely fashion.
I bought this gas trimmer after our old craftsman trimmer bit the dust. We returned it twice after the first two died the second you touched the throttle and then wouldn't start again (they tried to charge us restocking fees and then gave me a hassle about it looked "old and dirty" even though I had just purchased it an hour prior), and on our third machine, it worked great twice. It sat in the garage during a few months of dormant grass weather, and when we got it out again it wouldn't start. I nearly ripped my arm off trying to get it to start (wouldn't start with the starter device either)....

Purchased the Craftsman 12 amp Electric Blower and Vacuum for a 1/2 acre yard with lots of trees. On the inaugural run, the bag that holds the leaves tore. We were only 15 minutes into the process when it occured. The fabric is very flimsy. Sears, with it's great return policy, took it back. The blower is capable of moving leaves, but the fabric needs to be stronger.
This is my first gas trimmer. It is labeled "light-duty." It starts easy and gets the job done.
Don’t waste your money on this is product it’s the 2nd weed eater that I have purchased in the last 3 years and they don’t seem to last. You would imagine the name Craftsman would super seed the quality but it does not. As a huge fan of Craftsman tools they have let me down in this department. They are built poorly and it feels like they want you to come back every year or so. When the gears in the weed eater shaft brook I couldn’t seem to find a replacement in stock on 2 of their locations. Very Disappointed.
This trimmer made quick work of all the hedges on my property. I was able to complete the work with just one Ni-Cd battery, but I like that I can use a lithium C3 battery if i need more juice. Battery power is definitely a plus with a tool like this, as dragging an extension cord with you gets annoying quickly.
This Brushcutter combo, cut all the weeds and grass, I had to do. It worked very good with the blade, and I am very glad I purchased this unit.
We purchase the Craftman 4-in-1 Yard Vacuum system. The vacuum worked, though it did not shred.
Sears repair serviceman says no broken parts, and could not agree on the term meaning of "shredder"
After testing the machine and visibly seeing that it did not shred the leaves, he would not write on the sevice report that the machine did not shred though he did state "nothing broken, not shredding good per tech."
He stated that we may return it because of Customer Dissatisfaction."
Have to pay a 15% re-stocking fee.
