We try to play a couple of games as a family every weekend. Recently our eight year old son asked if he was old enough to play Scrabble so we gave it a try. Him and our six year old really have alot of fun playing. Of course their words are small : on, it, him.. but I find it very educational for them. It helps with their vocabulary and really makes them think. Me and my husband have played Scrabble together for as long as I can remember and it never gets old. I live in a Care Facility. Playing Scrabble makes me and the others I play with think. It's nice to know that the old brain still works. (And I'm not that old!) It's really facinating what words people come up with, word you might have forgotten. It's just nice to know I can still remember.
Scrabble is one of my families favorite games. From the age of 8 years old to present, and will continue to play with family and friends and teach our children how to play. After every major holiday dinner the table is cleared and the Scrabble Game is out on the table! Let the guys watch their "sports" us women rule at scrabble!
Our family loves board games. Hasbro Scrabble Classic Edition is one of the most educational games anyone can play. We began playing Scrabble with our daughters when they were very young. We would play with them according to their understanding of words and are delighted at the rate they have progressed over the years. The delight in their faces when they figure out new words is a true joy to us all. We have purchased several Scrabble games as gifts and have found that this is a game everyone loves.
Three of my children (ages 8, 9 and 10) are fascinated by Scrabble online, so I dusted off the box and showed them OLD SCHOOL scrabble. They love it. At this point, their spelling abilities and creativity melding words isn't exactly up to a great Scrabble game, but they're trying and they're spelling.
I LOVE that they're playing with letters, moving them around and seeing how they go together and how to change one word into another. It's like an English Teacher's dream.
I WORRY that the tiles are going to get lost as they pass the fine line between amusing themselves by spelling and amusing...

This is the class edition of scrabble. Meaning, you get what you pay for.
You get a paper board that folds in 2. So the tiles can scatter easily.
Not a bad idea because sometimes in the other deluxe editionso of scrabble (and I have several, even the CD and the Travel scrabble), the tiles can get stuck into the spaces.
But it's SCRABBLE and as a person who has formed a lifelong love affair with reading, I LOVE THIS GAME.
IT is fun and it's educational.
Don't forget to buy your latest scrabble dictionary or use a regular one!
This may be the most basic of the Scrabble sets available, but it is fun all the same. My 12yr old daughter loves to play this with me. She also took it to the local nursing home and played with a woman who lives there. There was even a Srabble club at her school for awhile. Anyone who enjoys reading and expanding their vocabulary will love this game.
We let my 8year old son play as well and he is getting better. I can tell you from experience that the day a child finishes with a higher score than a parent for the first time is a huge deal.
I have been playing Scrabble since I could spell! It is my most favorite game of all time! We play it every Friday night!
Hasbro Scrabble Edition is a must in every home. Besides a game is educational and challenging. Everyone should have one at home.
loved playing scrabble as i grew up with my family n cousins and friends!!
now i play with my husband,,,,I hope that when my kids grow up it will be a family game we all love to play together...challening each other and have the kid of fun I had growing up!!!
great game but i never ever won a game because i'm not that good of a speller. it's very fun to play though.
