Inappropriate?

Right now I use Crest's Vanilla Mint flavor, but I feel like switching it up. I went to the toothpaste aisle yesterday and was totally overwhelmed by ALL of the options. Mint + Green Tea Extract, Wintergreen Ice, Cinnamon, Citrus Clean Mint, Peppermint, Bubblegum, Carribean Cool, Cool Mint, Crisp Mint...needless to say I can't decide :)
Do you have any recommendations?

I personally always look for the ones that aren't gel-based or have stripes of gel. It's a practical thing -- I hate it when some bright blue substance gets all over the cap and on my counters. White is much easier to clean!
Also, I've stayed away from whitening toothpastes. Every article I've read say that they don't actually help.

Can I be very, very practical and say that you should just buy what is on sale? Remember that toothpaste is toothpaste... and being brand-conscious about it just means you will pay the premium for Colgate/Crest etc

I use what my mom buys. I'm sure she buys what's on sale too! :)

I'm an Aquafresh girl... Cinnamon flavor is just plain wrong for my toothbrush! :)

I agree with Michelina, cinnamon is not cool whilst brushing, and from what I remember neither is peppermint.
A cool mint or a wintergreen mint is always nice and refreshing for me.

Being a non toothpaste buyer, I use whatever the bride of 40 years brings home after cutting coupons out of the sunday newspaper. When my toothpaste tube is empty it is quite an experience going into the hall closet to pick a tube out of the box she puts them in (She also buys enough for the grown girls whenever they venture home). So I just close my eyes, stick my hand in the box and whatever comes out is my next tasteful/tasteless tube.

My preference is for Arm & Hammer Advanced White, but not everybody likes the baking soda feel...too gritty for some. Anyway, you might want to check out their site, I think there are some coupon offers and more info www.armandhammer.com

I have been experimenting with different brands, I used Tom's of Maine Natural Toothpaste, slightly more expensive, but did not leave a fruity taste in my mouth (which makes me feel that all toothpastes are a way of making money without ever doing anything for my teeth). So I liked that.
These days I am using Rembrandt, it is expensive as well (got it for about $6 at Jewel Osco under a promotion), it is supposed to be really good but havent seen the effects yet.

Also, my dentist told me that I should rotate my toothpastes but stick to 3-4 major doctor's recommended brands (unfortunately colgate was not one of his recommended brands)

Yah, they aren't the miracles they claim to be.
