LockedFeasting Season

posted on November 19, 2009 at 01:50PM Inappropriate?

Is there anyone like me who is skipping the feasts for health reasons? How do you cope when everyone eats as they please? especially thin folks?

One thing I like to do is go to Boston Market and get a plate for one. It is fattening but portion controlled, and gets it out of my system without grazing for the next month and a half. . .

We've got TWO dogs.

Turn your head for a moment and you've "lost" left-overs...

Who ate the gravy!

Look for the one with the widest tail wag.

And, the first one to pass out from the triptophane.

I found with healthy exercising habits, and small quick meals throughout the day, your metabolism never turns off and you burn alot of calories. Try going outside and taking a walk and eating some veggies

I think that small portions help as well. If you deprive yourself altogether you may end up "binging" which would cause more harm.

I also try to do little things every day like take the stairs instead of the elevator, or park my car far in the grocery store parking lot. Things like that add up...at least I hope! :)

I found using portion control with smaller plates instead of the larger dinner plates can help.

Your tips are really helpful. I am trying to attend gatherings and What I would really like to do is avoid the emphasis on food altogether.

For examply I never did cook a turkey on Thanksgiving, or eat any pie. i bought these things and gave them to  needy families. Spent the rest of the day with Margita washing and sorting clothes for donation.

So what do you guys do to keep BUSY this season? I am not worried about binging or feeling deprived. I will be having surgey right after Christmas (unless I have lost too much weight recently) or within a couple months of hitting a plateau. I never had a gastric bypass, but I "pretended " that I did and lost the weight that way.I need to keep busy, busy, busy.
