The HP Pavillion DV6000 is a pretty heavy laptop for it's size. The OS of Vista was quickly removed and added Windows 7 (thankfully there is drivers on HP's site for this) The software installed is awful, which a clean wipe fixed. I got this laptop a few years ago and I still use it daily. It works great! I've never had a problem with this laptop. As long as you keep up and do regular defragments and virus scans and disk clean ups it works like new for a while. Yes over time like most stuff,it will start to become a little slower. It's very easy to use for someone wanting a simple laptop,and it does have wifi,which most do now.
I noticed in the cons someone added that the screen dims on battery. Yes it does but there is a way to control that. You just go into control panel and there should be an option about brightness...

I purchased this laptop to replace my bulky desktop computer, and now use it as my sole computer. I like that I can easily use Skype and other services to communicate with family via the camera and built in microphone. I found the preloaded programs to be a bit cumbersome, and deleted many that came loaded on the laptop, but otherwise find it easy to use and maneuver. It has a nice, easy to use keyboard and hot keys. Nice screen, clear graphics.
I bought this for my husband. It lasted through a deployment and everyday here at home before and after it. It has a great screen. It's easier to carry around. But, it has vista. The camera on the computer is great. There really isn't much to say. It is great for the price and I am always worried about price.
We looked at all the different brands and they all seemed to come up short on harddrive space, memory or add ons except for the HP DV6000. I wasn't going to settle for less than 2GB of memory and had to have at least a 140 GB harddrive and the DV6000 had it. On top of that it has the built in webcam which I wanted so that I could chat with family and friends without always looking for my cam.
This laptop is a really great deal. It has a great processor so you can really get things done fast. It has the same video card as my Mac I use for work. I mainly browse the internet at home but sometimes I download lots of music and I watch movies from netflix on it. I love the lightscribe so I don't have to make labels for the dvd's and cd's I make. i love the screen the way it is really clear. It works even better with Windows 7 64 bit software and 4 gb of memory.
Hello, The HP Pavilon Laptop computer is a great choice. This computer has awesome gadgets and programs. The screen is HD which makes the view extremely clear. The computer has a built-in camera. This camara is very clear and the computer has a program in which you can add effects to the picture or while you are having a video conversation with some one. Also the keys are very soft and they dont make as much noise as other computers. The computer is very awesome overall. Also the computer's color and texture is very nice.

i dont like this laptop i think hp does generate heat near processer so you need to buy a heat sink.
