Every day computer user

Hewlett Packard HP Pavilion Entertainment PC —

This is my first laptop and I did as much homework as I could before buying. I should have done my homework on customer care as well. Less than 5 months after buying it I had to send my new laptop to HP for repair. They repaired the wrong thing (soundboard) and wanted to charge me $600.00 even after admitting it was not fixed. Luckily I had an extended warranty through the store I bought it from and they ended up finding the problem (motherboard) and fixing. (HP had my computer for almost 3 weeks without fixing and store fixed in one week.) HP might pride itself on customer service but they are terrible. The Pavilion does not have enough oomph for a lot of gaming and since Vista is a resource hog it really slows down my laptop unless I turn off the aero windows feature. And that's after doubling the memory. I am buying another laptop for my husband and you can bet it will not be an HP.

I bought the HP Paviion Entertainment PC and started having problems in the 1st year. Customer Care sucked- it usually took 40 minutes to get to the right person; there are 3 layers to go through telling your story each time, waiting to be transfered while the current agent writes it down and then I was told different things by different people as far as what was wrong. This notebook has a motherboard recall that some agents I spoke with didn't seem to know about. I have shipped it in for repair 2X, the first time the motherboard was not replaced despite the company knowing it was faulty, the second time it was replaced. Although I am currently still using it, I am looking to to buy a new notebook as I am still having some blips and I want to transfer my files before that happens. My next laptop wil never be an HP.
