I bought the whirpool duet and it included a kit to stack them ,but mine are 5 years old too . I did see them stacked in Sears on the floor models so I guess it's best to ask . I did not want to stack them so I just put the kit in the pedestal incase .You will find that stacking them makes them a little high for short people as my sister-in-law found out as she stacked hers and she is only five feet tall and it is hard for her to see everything and reach the buttons easly ,so she got a stepstool .You do have to make sure they are totally level when stacking as vibration can cause problems .It took us 15 tries before we got hers level and she has to sometime adjust them alittle .They do need a really solid floor too .We went in her basement and added supports and do not forget to clean your hose screens out 2 times a year or more .
