Tree doesn't turn

Is it supposed to turn automatically when you plug it in to the base? If I push it, it starts turning for a little while, but then it stops.

is it new? take it back get a new one. Don't pay 250$ for a tree and then "deal with it" take it back tell them you want an ew one it doesnt turn properly.

The way I understand it is the tree plugs into the base and the base plugs into an outlet or extension cord.

We got one going out on the display floor.

I think you have it all wrong. The tree is supposed be stationary while the room slowly rotates. ;-)

There's a controller box for different light displays and speed control. The tree stops and reverses automatically if anything catches on a branch like buffalo snow or a curtain.  Maybe you use less cast iron ornaments...ho, ho ,ho

Thanks, all, for the input and suggestions. Looks like I may have gotten a defective one because I followed all of the instructions and it still never turned. I haven't even put any ornaments on it yet. Unfortunately it's out of stock at the Sears locations by my home.

Maybe you can work something out at the store for one of these rotating tree bases. It's a store stock item:

I like those little ornament turners you can get.
