This was a terrible purchase.  I ended up breaking it while trying to assemble it, and I'm a weakling and I wasn't really using that much force.  The drying rack has two side pieces and ten wooden dowels.  The wooden dowels are various lengths.  It was unclear if that was intentional or a manufacturing defect. The side pieces don't fit together because the dowels are different lengths.  I tried switching them around, but no good. There is definitely no way to tell which one goes where.  Finally, I tried to get the rack together by pushing firmly on one of the side pieces and it snapped right...

Terrible Product

I don't think the bad reviews on this product are strong enough. I really wanted to go green and save money so I tried several times to make this product work. It never did go together right because the rods never fit properly. Then when I would use it, I'd have to go out and put it back together again every 15 minutes or so. Finally (as I was trying to hold it together and put the popped rods back in place), it pinched me and scraped up my finger badly enough that I had to remove the clothes and use a different drying method. This is the worst product I have ever bought!

DON'T BUY HOMZ PRODUCTS!

This dowel construction "ready-to-assemble" drying rack is a piece of garbage. The warped dowels to NOT snap into the plastic grippers. Instead, the plastic grippers snap off, rendering them useless for holding the dowels. We got one rack of two put together, only to have it collapse under the weight of a couple of shirts, sanpping the remaining plastic grippers. Totally useless product. A big waste of money. Also beware the Homz kid's closet unit, another garbage product. I wouldn't recommend Homz products to anyone!

You get what you pay for

I was just looking for the cheapest drying rack I could find. It does the job I guess. The quality is poor however. I could never get the rods pushed all the way into the side pieces, I was afraid to push to hard because I thought they would snap. As a result there are rough spots on the edges that could potentially snag clothing. I would definitely not buy again and look for a higher quality item, possibly a metal rack instead.

poorly made, get a metal one

i purchased this product several months ago, and i use it for daily drying, as i have no dryer at all, and it has not held up well at all. i bought 2, and the first one only lasted about 3 months, the second is now leaning to one side so i have to prop it up. very poor construction and materials. save yourself some aggravation and buy a metal one.

Horrible

Just purchased this & will be returning it tonight. As the other reviewer stated, the dowels do not fit properly. I tried 3 different ways, gave up and put it back into the box. My son was attempting to put it together as I left for work this morning, though I hold no hope for it going together properly.

Homz dryer rack

I really liked the size of the rack, would fit in bathtub. This dryer rack that I purchased was poorly made. There are 10 dowel rods in the kit, they were not all the same length. One was an inch shorter than the rest. The dowel rod ends went into plastic holders on the frame at the crossbars, one of the prongs on the holders broke off. It would not stay together, when you put one rod in, another or two would pop loose.

1 star

I bought this rack 2 weeks ago and I never got it put together right. I put it all back in the box to return it. It is of very poor quality so if I would have gotten it together I would have been afraid to put clothes on it for fear that they would end up on the floor.

So far so good

I bought it today, and unlike the other reviewers, had no trouble putting it together. We'll see how it does going forward!

wish it came assembled

it never went together right, we even tried hot gluing it. thank goodness i finally got me an electric dryer back. if it happens again i'll make sure i get one already assembled.

I could make a better drying rack out of chewed gum and harvested tree branches. This thing is almost impossible to assemble, and once all pegs are gingerly placed in their bent and flimsy plastic holders the unit is close to as stable as a house of cards. After we finally assembled it our clothes collapsed twice before we gave up. I spent more time looking for the receipt so I could take it back, but sadly we'd already thrown it away. I will never again shop at Kmart.

this product isn't worth the value of 2 minutes of my time but i want other customers to be warned. biggest piece of garbage i've ever purchased, hands down. to echo other reviews, the dowels don't fit into the holes (dowels are different lengths i'm guessing) and it wants to fall apart instantly. i feel like i've been fortunate enough to hand a few shirts on it and have it stay standing (albeit leaning heavily to one side) but whenever you try to store it or fold it up it has a nervous breakdown. falls completely to the floor. total waste of space, time, money. i could have gotten a few...

It's not worth one star

I purchased this drying rack last week. The rods are all different lengths, which make putting it together incredibly difficult with only one person. Once I finally assembled it, it was very wobbly and it couldn't even stand up on its own. After using some super glue to help hold it together it is now only slightly leaning towards one side. I tried to hang some clothes on it and the rod became extremely bent and sagged (I only had one towel on that rod). This thing is worthless, spend the extra money and get something that will actually work.
