I purchased this in Septeber or October. I have 3 dogs, six cats and a rabbit. The light just came on in February for the filter to be either cleaned or changed. I've purchase purifiers before and it seem you're constantly changing the filters which can be expensive. I haven't changed this one yet, but did take it out and give it a cleaning. Two smokers in the house as well!!! Works great for me and I have it in a larger room than the specs call for. It costs a little more but, as you know, you get what you pay for....

It really helps having this especially if you live with smokers and want to breathe clean air for a change. It even can trap pet hair, dust and other particles for allergy sufferers like my self. Worth buying.

I needed to replace a high-end air cleaner, and the Honeywell Air Purifier is a wonderful stand in at less than a third what I paid for the former. It is compact and portable, it does a fantastic job removing odors and dust particles from the air, and the unit is far quieter than expected.

I have had this air purifier for several months, and found it to work quite well at filtering the allergies in my home (including helping with the solvent smells on new furniture).

However, when I had to buy the replacement filter for this unit (of which, I had to buy two to replace the original one and then stack together and wrap the prefilter around them to place in the unit), I found out that the way that they are making the filters is "different than in the past", and the smell of the gaskets on the new filters made me sick (literally, I was nauseous) and this smell wouldn't come out after placing on the porch and wiping with soap and water as the first one did. Although, I agree that the instructions were confusing as per above, the company advised me and had to stop me as I, too, tried to remove the gasket, saying that that was not what they were trying to convey... I would highly recommend if you have sensitivity to chemicals like myself, to ask the company if they can send...

i bought some older honeywell hepa purifiers beacuse of allergies suffered in a downtown studio, now that i moved i dont need them as much but there is still much dust in the suburbs so i bought two of these and have been using them on and off, thoough you have to have them on continusly when you are home if you are a heavy sufferer, I like that these units only use pennys to operate per year and could also serve as fans. I plan to try them once more today and see how well the new snail shaped models have improved from the old round models. My allergies come and go so i have tried to lessen them with this quality product. Only thing to Change is the carbon filter to maximize the True Hepa Filter. i have also tried the Ozone filters but they hurt my throat, maybe they are killing beneficial bacteria? I think these are safer because they get rid of particles in the air quickly. I maybe l upgrade later to the new Honeywell filters with built in UV light.

I love it and i have asthma and allergy. I will get another to put down stairs. I sleep all night and there no sneezing or coughing. I will put one in my kid room too. This has a five year warranty too.

I purchased this unit to improve the air quality in my apartment.

The woman next door smokes and the city I live in has terrible air quality most days. I took it out of the box and tested it with my children in their room with the door closed for 2 days and WOW what a difference in the breathing and no more sneezing. I then placed the unit in my apartment on the highest setting for 1 week then switched to low for continuous cleaning.

This is an amazing unit and I can immediately tell the difference in the air quality from being outside to coming inside. This unit I thought was pricey at first however with the lifetime hepa filter that doesn't require replacement you can't beat this unit. Just vacum and go, go, go.

On the lowest setting it is whisper quiet...like having a fan on but definitely not a distraction. I have it in my bedroom and I sleep like a baby with this thing on...and I'm a very light sleeper.

I went to visit a friend in Kentucky with my 10 month old baby girl. At home, she has suffered from eczema for months. In two days of being at their house, the skin irritation was gone, with the purifier on high. There was dramatic improvement immediately. We had also been using nasal spray every night for her and I forgot the first night. She went from congestion that limited breathing to absolutely no congestion in one night with the purifier. I didn't use the nasal spray at all and she had no trouble breathing. One night home and the eczema and breathing problems were back. We just ordered one!
