I bought this saw last spring to clear some downed trees. I have cleared 50ft pines that fell, along with smaller trees(oaks maples) and this saw cuts thru the wood like a hot knife thru butter. While removing the stump from an old bush that was overgrown, I dulled the chain, and, while it still kept...

Bought this chainsaw 14 mo ago, the first yr it work great. the second year started giving problems to start, once it started it worked ok, until it was stalling while cutting the log..  and it wouldn't start again until waiting for at least 1 hour resting. Took it to a dealer for repair, they said...

a good bhainsaw is very important because of safety. a second rate chainsaw will hurt you. spend the money, do the research and get a husky. the 450e has just about everything a homeowner would want. good gas economy, good power and quality construction all make for the best tool for a good price.

if you can find it on sale, you should get it.

The exact model of this saw is "450 E Series".  I bought this saw through Sears online four months ago and it is a great saw that has not given me any problems at all.  I've run approx. 20 tanks of gas, all of it cutting Oak, without a problem or breakdown.

The saw starts easy-  2nd pull when its cold and first pull when its warm.  The operator's manual gives lengthy instructions for starting it when its warm but there is really no need for any of it, just pull the starter rope and it starts 1st pull every time.

The anti-vibration system is great, it really works.  Now that I've experienced...

Excellent chain saw

This chainsaw is a very solid and reliable tool. I'm particularly pleased with the power and vibration control. This saw is an excellent choice for a homeowner with a lot of wood to cut. It could probably even be used professionally or as a backup.

I own an electric and battery power chainsaw and this Husky is my tool of choice!

The only thing I've done is purchase some extra chains from a vendor on fleabay.

Great Saw for the Money

I've had a 450 e-tech (which this saw is, although the ad does not state it) for about 5 months now. I have used about 40 tanks of fuel and this saw rocks! It starts very easily and has surprising power. The new E-tech engines from Husky have much more torque than the older units they replace. A friend has a Husky 55 (about the same specs). We cut wood together and this one is better hands down. It has more torque (does not lose as much speed in the cut) and I use about two tanks less gas in a day while cutting at least as much, if not more wood. We've traded and I find the 55 to be poorly balanced... read full review »

Best mid-grade saw ever owned !

I own 2 husqvarna 450 e-tech saws. The 1st was a buy back from husqvarna after my 1st husqvarna 350  was too expensive to fix. !st 450 had problems running but was resolved by a husqvarna repair shop. Changed carbarator from a made in  china welboro to a made in sweeden carb. My a 50:1 quire newest 450 e-tech tooless has cut 10 cords of wood in 2 months without a single hesitation. Dont forget all husqvarna saws require a 50:1 oil premix. Dont buy the cheeper oil, you will end up with scored clinder like a formed reviewer.  Husqvarna service center said use Husqvarna or Stil premium premix oil....

4 stars

I bought the 450 e seris saw and ran about six tanks of gas through the saw. with no problems. i realy like that the saw is a lot lighter than my old saw, and a lot better on gas. I did have a little problem learning the warm start process. I would buy this saw again.
