My wife bought me this mower for Christmas last year(I know, I know, but I loved it. She knows me.) and I had some misgivings about it since I'd never owned a Husqvarna product and because of some of the reviews here.
After months of waiting I brought my new toy out, wondering how things would work...

This is a nice looking mower with good features (8.75 torque engine, key start, auto choke, single level height adjuster, variable speed self propel) and I was quite happy with it for the first month.
Then one night, after over a week since using, the gas tank leaked out all of its gas- which we noticed...

This is my first self-propelled mower and I love it. It cuts great. My yard looks great. I have not had any issues with it after 4 uses. It is a great mower and I am glad I bought. I could have done without the electric start, but they didn't have one without it and I wanted the 8.75 torque engine. It mulches great. Cuts great and starts easy. I love it.
This will be my 2nt season using this mower, I like it and have had NO problems to date. I love the ONE handle adjustment, I looked for this option, very handy. (adjusting each wheel is annoying).
My only Complaint is this mower needs a bigger bag, i have found as with any other mower you need to take a 1/2 path maybe 3/4 cut, with this mower it works better using the "whole" mower, take a "full cut" And the bag will fill up right. No plug-ups.
1st week the self propelled drive quit. Exchanged it for another mower. Put oil into the mower and rolled out in the yard to put gas in it and the grass height adjuster slipped and the whole deck fell to the ground--never even started the mower and it was defective out of the box. Took it back and got a refund. The mower has a lot of cheap plastic that looks like it would be easily damaged (mulch plug for example). The 1st mower cut fine when the propulsion mechanism was still working--I have a hilly yard and it went up it like it was on level ground. If the quality of the aforementioned could...read full review »
I have had this mower since April 2007 and I had to take it to the service center for several malfunctions. The one-step height adjustment starting slipping causing the blade to drop while the mower was in use. The key start began to fail after a few months. The rear wheel drive system failed last month. The engine has a lot of power therefore there is gives off lots of exhaust. I can now see while California does not allow it to be sold there.
PROS: Key start is excellent; very powerful - cuts through thick grass without a problem; variable speed control makes it easy to select appropriate speed and manuever mower.
CONS: Bag is a little on the small side; bag has no handle on the back to hold it when emptying; tube going from the deck to the bag clogs easily.
Overall this is a great mower and a strong value when compared to mowers with the same power and features costing almost twice as much.
Best thing since sliced cheese!
Easy to use, set-up,handle,start and a plethora of other accolades make this one of the best products I have ever purchased.
If they can improve on it I would be very surprised.
This is by far the best lawn mower I have ever owned!
My old Craftsman mower just could not cut through my lawn (2-3 weeks since mowed) and constantly bogged down.
This Orange Gorilla easily powered through what would normally stall out the Craftsman - and it did not leave clumps of grass.
Do yourself a favor and buy this mower.
I have used this mower for two months now. I am very happy with the purchase. I purchased the mower online and took advantage of no interest for one year and also recieve an extra $50. off for using a sears credit card. All the features (electric start, variable walk behind and height adjuster) all work as they should. The power is there for thicker and wet lawns. I have yet to stall it out. I have had no problems. I would recommend this mower.
Although I am happy with the overall performance of the mower and its engine, mine is in the shop already after less than 6 weeks of use. Here's the rub. There is a height adjuster lever on the Right Rear wheel that adjusts all 4 wheels simultaneously. The lever is supposed to lock-in on each height level via a tongue-in-groove connection between the lever and the deck. Unfortunately, this type of connection is not adequate to keep the lever in place. When the lever groove slips off the deck tongue, the mower chronically drops down into the dirt without warning, killing the engine and scalping...read full review »
We have owned this mower for one month.
Our lawn is just over 1/3 of an acre, with all sorts of conditions (steep grades and flat areas).
So far the mower has performed great without any of the problems that were listed on some of the other reviews. I.E. I have never had the deck drop when mowing. The engine is very strong and never stalls. The speed control does require some hand strength, but I can't say that it was a problem for the length of time it takes to mow our yard ( about an hour and 1/2).
Not a perfect mulcher, sometimes leaves a small trail if you don't adjust your speed and mowing...read full review »
I wanted a good mulching mower with a decent OHV motor, with a bagging option for later in the season. A Snapper was on top of my list because of it's great mulching capabilities, but adding a bag and a bagging blade would have added another almost $200. So, I decided to "settle" for this Husqvarna multi purpose mower, figuring I would give up some of the mulching ability, and save myself a few bucks. I liked the reviews the mower received here, and Sears is where I have purchased all of my mowers.
After a month of ownership, I am not disappointed with the performance of this mower at all. The...read full review »
OK, I've only used it once but it is so much better than my Honda. I love the key start. I love the one lever to raise the wheels. The bagger is so easy especially because the design fits easily inside the big paper bags my yard recycling company requires. The bagger is more square and can actually slide inside the paper bag. The only thing I am concerned about is remembering to plug it in to recharge. It has the power to surge up a small hill in my yard. Again, I have only used it once so...
This mower lived up to my expectations. Every feature performs as advertised. The key start feature is awesome. I will never own a mower that I have to pull a rope again. The deck height adjustment is terrific as is its lawn cutting performance. The only thing I would change is the tension on the "walk behind speed" handle. It tends to tire my hand a bit after mowing the entire lawn. All in all this is an excellent buy.
BTW, Sears' "ready in 5" online purchase was a breeze. I highly recommend this mode of purchase.
