This mower is just plain powerful. After unpacking my new mower and reading the owners manual I was cutting my huge back yard within minutes.
The rear wheel drive works great and gave this great mower the ability to climb up a large slope on the side of my yard without any effort at all by me other than...

I have used this mower for the summer. It likes to stall out when mulching in week tall grass. The side discharge also likes to clog up.
Purchased this unit based on the reviews saying it had plenty of power but I don't really see it.
Besides the above issues, it starts on the first pull and gives...

I have had this mower for 3 seasons of mowing. It recharges perfect each year. I have had no problem what so ever. The key start is so easy.
It's good on gas and has enough power to climb any hill. If you do have hills rear wheel drive is the best type of mower. This mower mulches great,
The grass bag is average size. I have owned several brands of mowers and this mower is best I've had.
I would buy this mower again.
We had a Craftsman mower for 9 years and replaced it with this one. This mower is great! We were a little worried after reading some of the previous reviews. We have had no problems with the drive wheel at all. This mower propels itself wonderfully and is very easy to maneuver. We have a lot of shrubs and trees to go around and have no trouble doing so. It cuts even and we have had no trouble with leftover grass (we mulch more than bag). We are very happy with the purchase. We would buy another one in a heartbeat!
Let me start with saying that this is the strongest rear bag mower I have owned. As soon as I unboxed it, read the instructions, and put gas in it this baby was roaring. I think I had set a personal record for my back yard. It starts with ease, runs smooth, the four link leveling system works great, and the self propel is awesome. I am rating this mower 5 out of 5. I know you can get the electric key start but you don't need to pay the extra 40 dollars because it starts so easy.
I am very pleased with this mower. It does have a few faults, but nothing major. First the pros. The engine is strong and powerful. The deck is well built and sturdy. The whole machine seems to be well balanced. 2 yr warranty.Out of the box, it started on the 2nd pull. Ofter using it, it will start on the first pull. I have a thick yard, and using it mulch mode works very well.
Now for the cons. I don't care for the speed control handle. After using it for a while, my hand becomes tired. The bag is smaller than most. Finally, as some have mention, the drive system will sometimes lock a wheel. This...read full review »
I've owned my Husky for about a month now and have cut the grass several times w/ it. The engine is great; very strong compared to my old 6 3/4 HP, and it starts easily on the second or third pull. It is thirsty compared to my old mower, but that's a willing trade for the extra power.
The height adjuster works well. Other users have complained that it won't stay locked in position. I haven't had that problem, but I can see it happening. The lift mechanism and spring are pretty heavy duty, but the handle itself is thin sheet metal made to flex over the locking detents in the mower deck.
I haven't...read full review »
Great mower at a great price!
The 8.75 engine was a big selling point, and it does not disappoint. It will effectively bag tall damp grass that would choke other mowers down. I love the single lever height adjustment, and it works smothly and easily. I might wish for a faster top speed for the self propulsion drive, but it works well and has great traction. After reading some of the reviews that complain about the gear drive not working right, I wonder if they read their manual about adjusting the tension on the cable, and if they realize that, like a car, it is a differential and therefore both...read full review »
This mower was the best mower I have ever owned for the first ten minutes it was actually working. The problem with this particular mower is the rear drive, as you will soon find out if you read the rest of the reviews. We bought this mower a few weeks ago, and the rear drive worked fine the first two or three times it was used. Both of the rear wheels pulled hard, pretty much walking its self as it is supposed to. All of a sudden the left wheel stopped engaging, making the mower pull hard to the left. We returned the mower and exchanged it for the same model. When we got the new mower home, we...read full review »
I bought it yesterday. Didn't care for an earlier review on the drive train problem. Only the right wheel was actually spinning when I was engaging the lever. The left wheel was just acting like a normal non-powered wheel. After a while both wheels stopped moving on engaging the lever. I have a Craftsman self propelling mower which is almost 4 yrs old but I never had the drive train problem. I took the new one back to Sears today and returned it, the manager was very sympathetic as she was trying to resolve my old lawn mower problem. I'd not recommend this.
I want to start by saying I actually love this mower. When it worked it was powerful, easy to use and even my wife liked it and she hates mowing as cheaper mowers vibrate so much it is uncomfortable. However I have taken it back to Sears 2 times and am going to take it back a third to replace it with something else. My problem was the primer leaked all the fuel out of the gas tank. it just dripped right out of it. I took it back to SEARS and they had someone fix it. Then it took me 15 min to get it started each time. So I took i back again. Got it back supposedly working and pour gas in it, there...read full review »
We have had the mower for a couple of weeks. It has surprising power through tall grass. The first time I used it the fact that it is so powerful and rear-wheel drive it seemed to leave me behind. This is an "excellent" mower... the best we have owned. The only issue we have is that the self propel action on one wheel is not engaging so we will have to bring it in for warranty work.
I should have read the earlier reviews. First time out the left wheel got stuck and would not move when I pulled the lawn mower backwards, I had to literally drag the mover. I starting working again after I dragged a few feet. The secoond time I used it, it worked great for about 5 minutes, then the right rear wheel became disengaged from the drive making the mover turn to th right. I took the mower back for a refund.
We just bought a house and needed a lawn mower, so we search and found this one. We got home and got it all read to use. They next day I went out to use it and I was amazed. It was awesome, it was easy to start and I had no problems going up the small hills that we have. It is a very powerful lawn mower. One of the nicest things is their 3-1 deck so you have the different options. This is a nice lawn mower and I would recommend it to my friends.
