“Excellent Value”

Kenmore 1/2 hp Food Waste Disposer — 

This disposer was rated a "Best Buy" by Consumer Reports 5 years ago when I originally purchased one. The identical 5 year old unit functioned well as expected but after 5 years of medium duty use, the blades were getting sloppy loose and a replacement grinder blade assy would have been almost $50 so I just bought another new unit. Replacement of this equivalent unit took about 15 minutes using minimal tools and expertise. It is made by In-sink-erator (the equivalent unit costs about $20.00 more at Home Depot) and is an "old reliable" type design - nothing fancy. I am amazed when folks pay much more for a more attractive appliance THAT HIDES UNDER THE SINK!! If you are a practical person looking for a moderate duty unit, THIS IS IT.
