This unit looks really good installed. It is easy to use and it does what its supposed to do. Like the other reviewers said, the door is a little too tight when it is opened and closed, but not excessively so. We use this microwave mainly to warm leftovers, pop popcorn, melt butter, heat soup, etc....review »
The biggest problem with this microhood is that the rotating turntable does not sit properly. When you put an item on it, the turntable tilts and does not rotate. I would get rid of this microhood if it were not already attached to my cabinet. I was also dissapointed that no mounting materials were provided...review »

Kenmore 1.6 cu. ft. Microhood Combo, 1000 watts Ratings and Reviews
After 5 years, 6 in-warranty parts replacements, and staring at a $475 bill if we wanted to fix it again, we decided it was time to cut our losses and replaced an $800 unit with this one. We miss some of the features of the fancy unit ( NOT a Kenmore ), but not many. Our biggest complaint, and one we would have with many units, is the keypad is hard to read in a dark room, even with the under-unit light on. We vented ours and it works better than the vent on the $800 unit. We also had the turntable problems others have mentioned - we found on ours it was due to crumbs getting under the turntable...review »
We bought it for the add minute button. It's just about the only button I use. Press it once and it runs on high for one minute. Press more times for more minutes. No need to press the start button. It has plenty of other features but who uses them?
The only annoying thing is the turntable makes klunking noises.
We installed it in the unvented mode, but it can also be vented out the back or the top.
You could easily spend several times the price on a microwave-hood but I can't imagine why. It was not too bad to install, but takes some time and instruction-reading. Venting it outside would require...review »
We were having new cabinets put in and decided to add a microwave. The contractor suggested buying it at our Sears store. We chose this for the cost and I'm sorry now. After less than a year of use (but over a year purchased), we are paying Sears over $175 to repair it. A new one installed would cost us more and we can't afford it. I agree with many, you get what you pay for and if you're going to have a Microhood installed make sure you buy quality and not this one. It'll be cheaper in the end.
We recieved this as a gift and I really like it. As first time homeowners it was an easy well laid out install. The whole process took about an hour. The light is nice as a nightlight in the kitchen. We don't use it when cooking as the kitchen is otherwise well illuminated. The door does open and close a litttle hard, this is not an issue as we tend to be slammers anyway. Otherwise all of the settings are easy to use. It looks really sharp. It is a very good product for this price range.
After my older model Kenmore caught fire (I Myself to blame) I saw fit to replace it with a newer model of the same specs.
Thus far I have been pleased with it's preformance as well as it's appearance, yet the construction of this newer model seems somewhat lacking in the manufacturing process particularly in the sheet metal fabricated parts that are only viewable during installation, hence my review title.
All in all it is a sound product at a reasonable price.
I really don't like it. I just bought it, and the door opens and closes hard, the turn table doesn't really spin smoothly, and the microwave overall makes a lot of noise when it's working. The light it came with is so dim you can't see anything, so you have to replaced the bulb right away.
The template was wrong, so my husband ended up putting one hole in the wrong place, and had to make another one.
This microwave was a replacement of a Kenmore that we installed 10 years ago. Was able to use the old rear mounting plate but had to drill new holes in the upper cabinet. We basically use the microwave for heating leftovers and popcorn! Works great and looks even better! The door sounds a little "clunky" when closing but otherwise I think it was a great buy.
I read some of the reviews here before I bought my microhood. I don't understand all the fuss. Assuming my microhood doesn't die after one year (as apparently one lady's did) this appears to be a good product for the money. Key words here are "for the money". You get what you pay for. Don't expect a Cadillac mircohood for a Chevy price.
I love this new microwave, I purcharsed the Kenmore microhood and it not only looks good in my newly remodeled kitchen but it works just as good as it looks, it is easy to use and very quiet. I love this microwave and would recommend it to anyone who was thinking of puchasing a new microwave. Because it's a Kenmore you know it has Quality.
Sears is the only place I have ever purchased major appliances. I prefer the Kenmore brand for it's reputation, selection and performance.
This microhood is no exception. I've only had it for a short while, but so far it's delivered. I've even cooked major portions of Easter dinner in it. I appreciate the shelf for additional cooking space.
I love this microwave! It's easy to clean, but clean the outside with a soft cloth as it may scratch. I love the popcorn button the best. It will even cook the individual bags (one serving) perfect! This is a great feature, not many microwaves will cook the small bags. I would buy another Kenmore, they are wonderful
Kenmore is the only brand of appliances that we buy. We have always had good luck with them. I am anticipating the same with this microwave. The price is right and the features are more than adequate. We just purchased a Kenmore gas range and this complements it nicely. No problems have been encountered!
Spouse still happy and the new Microhood it replaced my 31 Year Kenmore unit.
Price right as on Sale and used CC for additional 10% off.
Paper template for some reason was off about 3/8" on top two mounting holes. Think I was at fault as I have installed these before with no issues.
