“For under $20, it can NOT be beat”
I've been cooking on a set of Calphalon Professional Nonstick pans for years now. While I'm not a die-hard fan (meaning they don't have my brand loyalty) of them but I do like them a lot and they have definitely raised the bar for my future cookware purchases. To make a long story short all of our pans, except my beloved cast iron, are in storage. What pushed me over the edge to get a new pan was that I just wanted to quickly do over easy eggs without having to deal with the cast iron (cleanup, slow heating, HEAVY).
My requirements were:
So far, the Kenmore 10in. Hard Anodized Aluminum Nonstick Frypan has handledeverything I've thrown at it: eggs (scrambled, over easy...), toasting nuts, sauteeing meats and veggies (though for steaks I still prefer my cast iron), finishing/tossing pasta in sauces, just to mention a few. It's done all of these things quite well to boot.
It heats quickly and evenly. Construction is solid, heavy gauge aluminum with a solid, riveted handle...it's not going anywhere and it stays cool. The curve of the pan makes tossing/flipping the contents very easy. Cleanup is a breeze, just wipe it down with a soapy sponge under running water and it's clean as a whistle. It's not taken me more than 20 seconds to clean this pan, even after the contents have dried on.
If you need a pan, don't consider anything else @ Sears. This is the best pan for the price, hands down.
