Vertical window sliders limited our choices for AC units and, since we had a Sears card, figured we could use the special finance rates for appliances. So off to the Appliances Dept. at Sears to get this 11,500 BTU unit for our living room/dining room. However, the sales person told us that AC units... review »

So, this is my third LG Casement window AC unit in 5 years. The first one's compressor died within 3 years, but I blame my house wiring on that one. I had that corrected. $700 gone. I purchased this model two years ago, and the electical fan's bearing's "howled" after one year of use. It was so loud... review »

I purchased a portable air-conditioner a couple of years ago and while it cools the bedroom nicely it never quite cooled the living/dining area, which is a continuous space separated by an archway. Some of my neighbors have casement air conditioners, and I noticed their apartments were cool and comfortable in the Summer. I was inspired to buy this unit due to a deferred financing and discounted-price offer and, most importantly, because of the record heat wave we're having here. Although the product description is for a slider/casement window, I was able to fit it nicely (with a bit of ingenuity)... review »

Okay. Our house, which is great, was built as a custom home by someone who was into contemporary design but at the same time was a "naturalist" or something. Anywho, we ended up with this gorgeous contemporary with tall casment windows and no air conditioning. We fougt the heat for several years, but with a new baby, we knew we needed AC no matter the cost. I just on a whim did a search and stumbled across these units. We ordered a 6,000 for our bedroom, and loft area, a 11,500 for our great room, and our kitchen window was wide enough for a standard unit. Anyway, installation was a "breeze" they... review »

We have a brick tudor that was built in 1929. In the summer it can get quite hot. However, to install central air would be a very costly expense. In the main room there are hinged windows that normally would not be able to contain an air conditioner. We do have one small window that I kept looking at and finally measured and the dimensions were good to go. So, we purchased this unit. Installed it quickly and it works amazingly well! Our entire first floor is cooled! We have a regular window unit in the kitchen (10500 btu), so between the two it has been heaven. I love the look of this unit, which... review »

Very quiet compared to most window A/C's if it's installed properly and this unit will cool your room quickly. I rated the quality at 4 stars due to the installation. I paid Sears do the installation and the day prior to the install, I was informed the cost would be an additional $60 on top of the $120 I was already charged. The installer then has the option to tell you the fees will be even more AND if they even want to do the install at all after they assess the situation. Thankfully, my install went smooth (just under 1.5 hours), but now, about a month later, the A/C unit rattles like crazy... review »

The Kenmore 11500 BTU Casmement Window AC unit makes all the difference on these hot muggy Indiana summer days! We live in a 1 bedroom apartment building built in 1929 that has the swing-out casement style windows. Summer days with the sun beating in are murder without some kind of cooling solution. We had to improvise and construct a wooden support structure in order to install this unit. Once that was done and we turned the unit on, the cool air started gushing out. What a relief! Not only does it cool the apartment down to near-chilly levels on 89 degree days, it also reduces humidity down from...

This is our first air conditioner and we're very pleased. We ordered it 3 days before a heat wave was due. We picked it up at the Silverdale, WA store the next day with no problems. My husband installed it in less than 3 hours (he had to modify the insulated board to fit the height of our window). It's easy to operate whether by hand or with the remote. We kept cool during the week long heat wave. The A/C unit is quiet and looks nice in our combined dining/living room. Now I'm thinking of purchasing a smaller unit for the master bedroom.

We originally had this type of air conditioner for quite a few years before it had to be replaced. Since my husband didn't want to lift it every year, he replaced it with a portable one, which did not cool sufficiently. We purchased this model & it cools off our entire first floor. It has the energy saver, which keeps the cost of running it down. Since 2 members of the household have allergies, we like the option of the closed vent, which recirculates the air & doesn't bring in the pollen, etc.

This has to be the best air conditioner ever. In fact, we liked the first one so well that we bought a second one a year later. This is the quietest unit, and a pleasing white color; unlike the ugly brown units sold in the 1970's and 1980's. It's also much easier to clean. Did I mention how quiet it is? We are unable to have central air, so we are very likely to buy a third unit this year, and this will be the model we choose. Thank you for allowing me to tell you how well we like this product.

This was really great. I have a 1600 sq. foot house and it kept it nice all summer! Even in the hottest days it kept the humidity down and kept the house comfortable. It installed great in my casement windows, had to make a few adjustments to installation because the instructions were mainly for sliders. But, if you have any idea how to install a window unit you will be just fine!

Easy to install. Very quiet while operating. Performance has been excellent so far. Only been using air conditioner for 3 weeks. Attractive, quiet, and remote is easy to operate. Very good for side to side opening windows.

I bought a LG 15000 btu air conditioner, It would'nt mount in my side sliding window,it was huge/heavy, and very noise. This unit took me an hour to install, Have only had it for 5 hours, it is very quiet, and my apt is nice and cool. I'm glad I bought it
