We had an old 5,000 BTU from my mother in our living room and another in the bedroom. We live in a one floor, one bedroom apartment. Definitely not enough BTU's for a living room and kitchen. So we purchased the 12,000 BTU at K-Mart for $300. Good deal!! It cools our entire space of approx. 500 sq ft.... review »

Received this unit June 30,2009, the shroud was bent right out of the box and the front will barely stay on. I found cracks on the upper left curtain and the louvers are almost broke because of cheap plastic, the fresh air controller arm broke right out of the gate. Every piece of plastic is the cheapest... review »
