Thank you to all the folks that have reviewed this AC. I just bought one of these based on all the reviews saying how quiet it is and you guys are right, it is amazingly quiet! It is quieter than most tabletop or box fans. My ceiling fans make more noise than this AC. The only sound I can hear is the quiet, gentle flow of the air coming out the front. There is no compressor sound at all. No rattles. No roaring air, even on high speed. No buzzing. No motor or compressor noise whatsoever. When I first turned it on, I was not sure the compressor was even running, but the air was coming out nice and cold. There was one thing that disappointed me. The digital display only shows the setpoint temperature, it does not show the actual temperature of the intake air. I have a Haier 10,000 BTU AC in my bedroom that has a similar LED display and it shows the setpoint temperature when you change the setpoint, then it switches to showing the actual air temperature of the room air going into the AC. I wish the Kenmore worked like that. But the Haier is a much noisier AC than the Kenmore, and does not cool quite as well, so I would still choose the Kenmore over the Haier.
