Works OK - Not Real Quiet

I mounted this unit in a window in a 20x20 workshop and it works fine. I also bought a 7,800 btu unit which is mounted in a separate room off the workshop. See my review of it for a comparison of noise levels. A sound level meter was placed 8' in front of this A/C, slightly below the air register. With the FAN ONLY running it measured 62 dB on low, 63 dB on medium and 64 dB on high. With the compressor running it measured 65-66 dB. The 7,800 btu was 3 dB quieter with the compressor running and 6-7 dB quieter with the fan only. Since the two units are mounted differently, in different rooms, the comparison isn't precise. Normal speech levels in a quiet room is about 60 dB.
