After reading numerous reviews, we decided on the Kenmore 12,000BTU, as it was thermostatically controlled, and quiet, two features we required. Checked online, for availability within our area, drove in, purchased, picked up, (they even loaded it into our car for us!), all within an hour!! Brought the unit home. We have a large, old farmhouse in Rhode Island, South-facing, with maximum amount of sunlight. Although we are near the water, and have a lovely breeze, the humidity is BRUTAL. My partner works from home during the summer months, so, it is imperative to have a comfortable environment. Installed the unit, in no time. Plugged it in...and VIOLA!! Instant comfort!! The real reason I felt compelled to write, is that we originally placed it in the office, thinking it would absolutely, sufficiently cool that room. But Noooo, it didnt stop there! It also cools, (to 68degrees), the livingroom, kitchen, sitting room, dining room and bathroom, six rooms!! The entire ground floor, which, mind you, are large rooms, with high, 10foot ceilings!! I am running right back to buy another for the upstairs! Cool. Comfortable. Quiet. Content. Perfect!!
