I recently purchased the Kenmore 12 cup cofeemaker. I have to say I was skeptical because the price was so good. It is very nice and very good quality. The price really compares to anything else out there as well.

I bought this coffee maker because to replace one i had bought 7 yrs ago which was a kenmore and worked great so why not buy another! Noticed that it was only brewing 1/2 pot at a time and then the carafe broke and its is pain in the neck to get it replaced. Sears wants to replace the whole unit just for the pot makes you really stop and think about the product then. Besides that what was I suppose to do for coffee while the exchange was taking place?

I've had this for 2 or 3 years until the carafe handle snapped off, so in terms of durability it's not bad for the price. It could've been better, though. There were annoying things about it from the beginning. For one thing, it would often shut off in the middle of brewing, for no apparent reason. And even when it did finish brewing, it would automatically shut off way too soon for me. Sometimes after a half an hour I'd go back to get my second cup of coffee, and it would have shut off already. It seemed to be completely random. Also, it was kind of a pain to get it out from under the basket....

The coffee maker made great coffee, had the features I was looking for and was a good price. It had an annoying habit of shutting off randomly. I set it to start brewing early in the morning and would come into the kitchen looking forward to a nice cup of coffee only to find it had shut off in the middle of the cycle. Other times, I would go for my second cup after 45 minutes, 1 hour, 1 1/2 hours to find the unit had shut off. I returned it to the store and they refunded my money without question. I would have been happy with an exchange for another of the same coffee maker but this was never offered....

I would come downstairs in the morning awaiting for a fresh cup of coffee and at times it would only brew 1/2 pot and other times not brew at all. It would shut off during brew time.
I never knew what to expect in the morning. I purchased this a few months ago and it its going back and I will either stick with Mr. Coffee or the Bunn. Mr. Coffee kept the coffee very hot and always dependable.

I bought this pot about 3 months ago. Wish I didn't. The timer only works part time. Three out of 7 mornings it will not brew automatically. I have to manually start it when I wake up. The pot shuts off in between brewing. Sometimes it brews all the way, then shuts off. I never know what to expect. I bought it at Sears 60 miles from my house, so it is crazy to take it back. It cost $29.00. Not worth the trip. It works terrible. Would not recommend to anyone. I have been a shopper at Sears for 40 years. I am very happy with Sears, just not this pot. I am going to have to purchase a new one.

The most disappointing Kenmore product I ever owned. Water dripped down back of machine onto power cord when water resevoir lid opened (a potential shock hazard), sometimes shut off halfway through brewing cycle, could not push buttons without unit sliding across counter, drip shut-off didn't work well when removing carafe during brewing, mold developed in basket holder, which couldn't be removed for cleaning. Now in trash after about 4 months of use. Can't believe Sears is still selling this thing.

The coffee maker stops warming the coffee after about 30 minutes, not the 2 hours as stated.

I purchased this coffee maker about 4 months ago and up until recently it had worked wonderfully. The other morning however, I went to make coffee and it would not turn on, nor would the hot plate even heat up. As a person the requires coffee in the morning to start my day, it was very disappointing not to have coffee brewing for me, but instead pouring hot water thru the filter so I could get a cup of coffee to start my day...extremely disappointing.
I guess I'll just stop and buy a "Bunn" that I had for over 10+years.

1. A mess to clean up.
2. Shuts off too soon.
3. Timer does not work properly.
4. Hard to find a pot when you brake it.
5. Although it is a nice counter piece to look at.

This coffee pot works well and looks good. Trying to find a Decanter for this coffee maker is impossible, even at a Sears store. It's a shame, Sears doesn't sell parts for their products. This is why I give it a low rating.

The coffee maker started acting up right after I bought it. None of the extra features has ever worked (the clock won't even set) and it stops brewing (at the beginning, middle, or end of cycle) for no apparent reason. It shuts down the hotplate right after brewing. What a disappointment.

This machine couldn't have had worse engineering. Water everywhere, turns itself off mid brew, the numbers on the carafe and the cup indicator on the coffee maker are black and can't be read, it takes two hands just to turn it on and off. Two hands for all other operations including water clean up. I bought this machine because of Sears/Kenmore quality and reliability and it was picked as a "best buy" in Consumer Reports. Turns out they are both wrong. A month old and I have had enough. Anybody want to buy a used coffeemaker???
