We purchased this chest freezer as a step up in size to our smaller 15 yr. old Frigidaire.  We bought a 1/2 steer (Belted Galloway, grass fed, lean and delicious) and realized once we got it home we needed more freezer space.  SEARS and "next day delivery" to the rescue!

The freezer is very nice, good...

We had a chest freezer for many years and it stopped working...so we needed another.  We chose the Kenmore Chest Freezer.  It is doing it's job, keeping our food frozen.  It has great organizers both vertically and horizontally which our old freezer did not have, so that is a wonderful feature.

We had an upright before for years and husband wanted the chest this time. Chests seem to have more space than the upright and I have to agree, they do. With this chest, The light in the lid seems to interfere with a FULL basket in the center position. You have to make sure a full basket is not left in the center position or the lid won't completely close.

The key-lock does not make it theft-proof but the manufacturer never claimed it. The plastic key does indeed make it child-proof. Otherwise, we've been enjoying it for 2 months now and we're still loving it!

So far so good.

good freezer (so far, owned for 1 month @ time of review) had to remove basement door to allow to fit thru. Happy with purchase. factory setting seems to keep freezer between -8 & 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Will go colder if needed (my freezer is located indoors in basement). Top lid does not seem sturdy enough to store large heavy items on, so we only keep a few comforters on top, which also makes it easier to enter freezer when items are needed.

chest freezer (kenmore)

I brought a Kenmore Freezer for my daughter for Christmas and she is VERY happy with it.

I am a homebrewer intending to convert this chest freezer into 4-tap kegerator for corny kegs. I can easily fit 5 pin lock corny kegs and a 20lb co2 tank on the floor with plenty of clearance when closing the lid. With ball lock kegs you could probably fit another in there without a problem. I can't say there are really any major faults with this freezer. It does buzz slightly when the compressor is running but now that I've had it for a few weeks I don't notice it at all. I can see the plastic dividers being extremely useful for organization if I were using it to store frozen goods as they're... read full review »

We needed a quality freezer with good marks from Consumer's Report.  We bought a side of beef and needed something quick.  The sales help at the Heritage Mall in Albany was outstanding.  We love the dividers to separate types of food and cuts of meat.  Great sale today and energy star to boot!

I had this freezer ship to my local Sears and used my pickup truck to go get it.  This saved me on shipping costs.

So far, my freezer has worked very well.  I filled it with a bulk purchase of beef (over 200 pounds) and several other bulk purchases from BJ's and **********.  It has 2 large pull-out bins that can store smaller items that you can grab easily.

The freezer is very deep and can fit literally hundreds of pounds of food.

I purchased this Kenmore after a Danby Freezer that I got from ******* ******* out on me after only a week or 2.  I finally got around to researching a decent freezer...

I just want to say that I bought this online and it was so easy.  Then when it was time to go get it and pick it up, everyone was so helpful and extremely nice.

I would definitely buy this way again and recommend this anyone and everyone.

Like the organization with the dividers and baskets.  Like the light and that it locks.  Kenmore is a good brand and it was assembled in USA.  Also got this for a very good price - $359!

Love the Organization!

My husband really wanted us to buy an upright freezer, but we didn't have luck with the last one (door came open a couple of times and also it quit working after about 5 years) so I wanted a chest freezer. We bought this one based on the reviews so wanted to share my opinion after we got ours home and filled with food. My husband's gripe with chest freezers is that stuff on the bottom gets forgotten and goes to waste. Not with this freezer. I am so glad we bought it. There is a heavy plastic removable grid in the bottom of the freezer that divides it into 6 sections and then you have two baskets... read full review »

What a money saver!

I love this freezer. I bought it to replace a very old upright side-by-side that I used as an extra freezer. My energy savings are already noticeable. I thought it would take awhile to fill it as it was looking a little bare still after transeferring the old stuff into it, but only a few weeks later it is now packed. Now I can buy so much more in bulk and on sale, I am wondering why I didn't buy it sooner! I think the inserts to divide it are a great idea also--it keeps my zones nice and neat so I can find stuff easily. The only downside I have seen is it is already developing a good amount of... read full review »
