Purchased freezer last of May this year. Had to call for service due to condensation and sweating inside freezer. The tech checked the freezer today. He has no idea what is causing it. We did try to put some insulation in the inside of the door lock. As of this evening, we still have the same problem. Probably have to call tech again.
I bought 1 freezer and I liked it so much I bought another just like it.
We bought this wonderful freezer so we could stockpile meats when they go on sale at the store and it has saved us alot of money! We buy meats and such when it is on sale and put it in the freezer and we also grew our own veggies and froze them too. We have cut our grocery bill more than half by doing this and the extra money we have goes toward paying off this freezer. Wish we would have thought of this sooner!
Great freezer! Plenty of glass (heavy duty) shelve space; lots of capacity in the door! Manage your own door space with heavy duty plastic removable storage units. Use them as needed. I looked at many freezers before buying this unit, then I decided to toss my old freezer and get another one like this one!
I had a very old manual defrost freezer. An albatross! These new freezers are great, so far.
They cooled down within 6 to 8 hours with our assistance of adding gallon milk cartons full of ice; we didn't lose any food going from 30 gallon ice chests to freezer.

read full review »I have owned this freezer for 3 weeks and all I can say is I am impressed with its quality, size and price.
I realize it is a pain in the neck to defrost a "manual defrost" freezer. I am of the opinion, however, that a manual defrost unit keeps frozen food better for a longer period of time. This unit is spacious, well made, and has a great price. The interior light is a god send, the door storage is excellent, the bottom basket pulls out easily, and every type package can be accomodated.
So far, the unit has been flawless !!! It is exceptionally quiet and if it is like other Kenmore appliances...

i have had mine for about three months and i love it have not had issues and love the stand up no digging for something in the bottom
It is a great freezer so far. I've had it about 3 weeks now. I love being able to find what I'm looking for in the freezer. It is replacing a 35 year old Sears Coldspot chest freezer. I will say I am definately happy with it.
Freezers are fun. I've seen this model freeze over the whole wall with ice a bunch of times. Its a great box for space and affordability. In the past I've installed heater kits, new T-stats, and new gaskets around the back inside wall of this model. The air flow is better directed through the back wall and proper heat exchange takes place. Airflow has to be directed through the coil for a proper tempurature to be maintained. Utimatly, after buying this product have a Sears tech come out and make sure the airflow is being channelled through the coil before ice accumulates and ruins...
