We purchased this model on 09/27/08 and after letting it set for 24 hours(we hauled laying down) we plugged it in, could barely hear it running, it started cooling within 10 minutes, as usual our kenmore appliances are working flawlessly. Will add to this review a few months down the road.

We purchased this freezer and it was delivered with no problem until the next day. When I checked the freezer I noticed condensation inside the freezer and within a week I had about two inches of ice all over the inside. I noticed the seal was messed up on the side and called to have a tech come fix... review »

I was replacing my upright that quit during the middle of the night and was 27 yrs old. Went online and searched, read the reviews and this 20 cf was great upgrade. Sears delivered the next day, which gave me time to remove my old one, paint the pantry including the shelves, and was ready for the new one when it arrived. It does run quiter, has more door shelves than my old one, and I love the pull out drawer. I did forget to pick the correct side for the handle, but with with another two hours of removeing and re-stalling some shelves I really like the way it fit in my pantry and gave it a new... review »

I bought this yesterday and I love it. It is very very quiet. I love the space and the drawr on the bottom. I would recommend this for anyone.

Our freezer arrived with a broken seal. I called Sears and they came out within two days and fixed it - no charge. This is a great freezer, but realize, you get what you pay for. It is not frost-free, so it will have to be thawed and cleaned one to two times a year. Also, the door cannot be changed to the opposite side. The good things about it: it keeps the food frozen and it has a place in the door for ice cream to keep it slightly softened. If you are a simple person who can do without all the bells and whistles, then this freezer is for you.

I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS FREEZER.... ALTHOUGH I DID NOT TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION ABOUT THE HEIGHT (MY BASEMENT IS ALITTLE SHORT) SO WE MADE SOME CHANGES AND I AM OHHH SOOOO PLEASED WITH THE FREEZER. IT REALLY DID GET COLD VERY FAST..LESS THAN AN HOUR. SOOOOOO PLEASED!!!!!

Great freezer!  Plenty of glass (heavy duty) shelve space; lots of capacity in the door!  Manage your own door space with heavy duty plastic removable storage units.  Use them as needed.  I looked at many freezers before buying this unit, then I decided to toss my old freezer and get another one like this one!

I had a very old manual defrost freezer.  An albatross!  These new freezers are great, so far.

They cooled down within 6 to 8 hours with our assistance of adding gallon milk cartons full of ice; we didn't lose any food going from 30 gallon ice chests to freezer.

I have owned this freezer for 3 weeks and all I can say is I am impressed with its quality, size and price.

I realize it is a pain in the neck to defrost a "manual defrost" freezer. I am of the opinion, however, that a manual defrost unit keeps frozen food better for a longer period of time. This unit is spacious, well made, and has a great price. The interior light is a god send, the door storage is excellent, the bottom basket pulls out easily, and every type package can be accomodated.

So far, the unit has been flawless !!! It is exceptionally quiet and if it is like other Kenmore appliances...
