“Why pay more ??”

Kenmore 200 CADR HEPA Air Cleaner — 

Ultimately what is anyone looking for a cleaner to achieve ? What are the components that delivers that performance ? Pure and simple it is the filter for cleaning and the motor for delivery.. This is not esoteric science unavailable to the layman. The clean air depends on the filter ,volume on the motor. Our dilemma is cost ; both initial purchase and filter replacement-reliability is in the motor not the filter. Most everyone agrees that HEPA filters are the best- ultimately most used-therefore easier to find and cheaper ( I still don't agree with the cost $ 39 to 49 but .... ) The pre filter stuff is pretty much anything that catches hair ie large particulates,flies etc. the primary filter is like your furnace filter only much more expensive. Since my wife and I are smokers AND we both work out of the house all of us including our 2 kids and 2 pets are happy with the change in our atmosphere ( 3 days ). Time will tell regarding the reliability of the motor- I'll just keep replacing the filters as long as the tremendous air flow continues filtering our air.
