This microwave features easy to use touch pads to reheat foods as well as cook entrees, frozen foods, and casseroles. I like the door handle rather than the push button on my old Sharp microwave (whose display screen quit just after the warranty expired).
The only thing I miss is a "keep warm" feature.
Overall, this micro is an excellent value. Sears was running an extended warranty of two extra years at a bargain rate, so I took advantage of it. I am usually not one to take extended warranties.I recommend it to anyone who needs an uncomplicated micro with plenty of power.
Just got this microwave a couple weeks ago, but so far it has served us very well. It has a spacious interior (like a larger, full-size microwave) but without taking up as much internal space. It is easy to use and cooks well. A couple disappointments: 1) the buttons are VERY loud. 2) the sensor for "auto-cooking" doesn't work. it always overcooks the food. However, when I monitor the cooking, it does just fine. I am happy with our purchase. Great value.
I've been using this microwave for about a month now and so far so good! The kinds of things we like to cook in the microwave are: reheat leftovers, popcorn, warm tortillas, frozen chicken pot pies, etc. This microwave is very easy for me and my children to operate. I don't have anything negative to report!
I wanted a Kenmore or Kenmore Elite microwave in black to match my Kenmore black refrigerator, Kenmore Elite black dual fuel range, and Kenmore Elite black dishwasher, so I chose this model because it fits into the exisitng cabinet space, doesn't have a convection feature (my range...
read full review »I had previously purchased a Kenmore TrueCookPlus (TCP) microwave, which is nearly identical to this model, except it has the TCP feature. Within the first three uses, the unit started starting automatically when I shut the door. I exchanged it for an identical model, which did the same thing. Since I didn't need the TCP feature, I exchanged it for this model, except in white. At first it worked well. Within 2 weeks, however, it started doing the exact same thing.
This microwave works very well and has many features that my wife and I love, including a one touch feature for cooking...
read full review »I have read the bad reviews-as with all microwaves, I guess they are just not made the same because almost every microwave has the same type of complaints. I love this microwave, from the beeps to the way it heats and the options. I have never softened butter so easily! Sounds simple, but my last microwave purchased in 2005, didn't do it.
We bought this microwave on sale on Nov. 1. On Nov. 17 I noticed that the turntable was not turning. I removed the glass turntable and pulled up on the wheeled base. It came right up out of the floor of the microwave. The center post was sheared off at the top of the shaft where the pin from the gear drive fits. I can't imagine what would cause this to happen with normal use. I called the service department and they said I could either take it to a service center for repair or return it to the store since it broke within 90 days of purchase. I will be returning it to the store for another microwave....

After one month the microwave started turning itself on and would not shut off, even after unplugging. Sears cheerfully replaced it and the new one works great.
We purchased this microwave oven 4 years ago to replace a 19 year old Jenn-Aire. Our decision was based primarily on this model being highly rated by ****************. During the time we used this oven, it performed well. Food was heated evenly. Power levels could be selected for defrosting, softening, etc. Was a little noisy (clanked and popped) during cook cycle, but that was minor. Right out of the box, the turntable support made a high-pitched squealing noise until I removed it and sanded it down where it attaches to the drive spindle (the spindle was off-center, causing the plastic...
read full review »We've had this microwave for about a month without any issues. The round cavity inside is nice to accomadate larger dishes. It's easy to operate, but may cook a bit too long when using the sensor control for frozen veggies. I would recommend this for anyone who needs a mid-size microwave that looks nice and performs well.
I purchased this microwave when it was on sale for $69.99 last fall making it an excellent value. Setup was easy, just unbox it and put the turntable in. All of the features and functions are clearly marked on the control panel and respond very well. The turntable turns evenly and without noise. It's many functions for dethawing, reheating, and specialty heating are easy to use and work very well.
My only complaint is that the built in power and time for a 3.5oz bag of popcorn is 10 seconds too long. If the bag is left in the entire time, it gets slightly singed. Pull it out with 10 seconds left...
read full review »This Kenmore Microwave does a great job. Cook times are consistant and it cooks evenly. The preset cook buttons like popcorn work great. I love the rounded back that allows for larger dishes. I highly recommend this microwave oven.
