I agree with one review that the upper rack adjustment does take up a lot of room, and I really don't think I will use this feature, but it's there if I need it. I only have the dishwasher a few weeks but it is a lot quieter than my last one. It washes the dishes really clean and they seem to dry better... read full review »

Quiet, but Poor Design

The design of this dishwasher leaves a lot to be desired. The plastic bracket that holds the movable tines in the bottom rack catches on the water inlet and constantly falls off leaving the tines unstable. I would definitely not buy this product again. On the plus side, the dishwasher is very quiet.

Awesome Dishwasher!

This dishwasher is sleek and spacious. There isn't anything that hasn't fit yet. Every dish comes out sparkling and looks brand new. I haven't used the turbo zone yet. Moderately quiet. Some cons: It takes a long time to finish washing, and some of the plastic fixtures attached to the sliding dish racks pop off easily. I don't even find this annoying, but someone else might. Also, not perfectly quiet, but darn close.

Very satisfied with our selection

We are very satisfied with our selection. We had an old dishwasher that was extremely loud and did a poor job washing dishes. We have been extremely pleased with the operation of this model - it is extremely quiet - we are now able to have conversations and talk on the phone in the kitchen while the dishwasher is running. We are satisfied with our selection

We purchased this dishwasher one month ago to replace a dishwasher that was 25 years old. I installed it myself which was pretty easy. This machine is really quiet compared to our old machine. My wife says the only problem she has is when she over fills the soap holder she can't close the soap door until she digs out some soap with a knife. She also said she had a big bowl that came out dirty or not as clean as she hoped it would. I hope this dishwasher will last us another 25 years.

recommended by the installer...

We bought this dishwasher after close comparison with several others. We likes the quietness (52db), adjustable rack, turbo-wash, and general capacity. The only thing we couldn't get in this model is an interior stainless steel tub, but a model with all the other features and a stainless tub (from the Kenmore Elite series) cost several hundred more. We couldn't justify it. So far, the dishwasher has been great. Cleaning is excellent, and we really like the silverware holder -- keeps the silverware apart in a simple rack and slot system. Much better than the typical basket where they can all jumble... read full review »

Not Worth the Money!

We bought the Kenmore dishwasher model number 13882 based on Consumer Reports best buy recommendations (CR did not recommend this model, but Kenmore dishwashers similar to this). This was a brand new offering. While the dishwasher works we don't like the following: 1) A plastic container which held sliced cheese came out filmy. 2) The silverware basket ONLY fits on the right side of the dishwasher and our sink is to the left of the dishwasher making it a long reach. 3) The tines on the lower rack are too short. The dishes when you load them fall over onto each other and touch each other. You have... read full review »

Very Nice

Bought this as a replacement for a 10+year old Kitchenaide in mid-September '08. Purchase was based on the low decible rating for noise. Compared to the older unit, this unit is very quiet. The dishes come out very clean, much cleaner than the older unit. The "Smart Setting" is always used in addition to "quick rinse" setting since dishes are often loaded several days prior to operation. Currently using a discontinued "Members Mark" detergent, and the results are more than satisfactory even with the bargain brand. The salesperson recommended leaving some food residue instead of removing all food... read full review »

response to "not worth the money'

I purchased this dishwasher in December. My salesman showed me the NEW MODEL HE from Kenmore. This model was brought down in price because the tub was not stainless, like the model I think "Seattle" was talking about. The HE dishwashers use less water so filling the cup over the recomended "line" will cause cloudyness on glass and plastic. The adjustable tine on the top are GREAT! I can fit all kinds of things up there now that had to be on the bottom in my old one. The fold down tine in tne bottom rack folds 3 ways, down for large pots, straight up for regular dishes and slanted for casoral dishes.... read full review »

love

I waited a long time for a new dishwasher and bought this one 3 months ago. I can not say enough how happy I am with it!! It is quiet enough to run in the kitchen while my kids do their homework and the dishes sparkle with no pre rinsing.
