This dishwasher is actually washing our dishes unlike the old one we owned. We have not tried the jet feature because the dishes are spotless washing with the normal wash cycle. The stainless steel design actually looks good even though our other appliances are white. The only downfall was that we were...

Stay away

I should have known when it was deeply discounted to stay away. Then, after the first one only lasted 4 washes, should have just said "no". But, stuck with it.......wish I had not. I replaced it after my very old dishwasher wasn't washing so well anymore (it had in the past). While this one is much quieter......well,... read full review »

I read reviews before I make major purchases so I hope this helps:

Purpose: To replace 10 year old Whirlpool (low end tract home model)

Pros:

  • Buttons on the outside.
  • Looks of stainless with black trim
  • Cleaning options
  • Quality of cleaning
  • Simplicity of use

Cons:

  • Loud when washing

I don't mind the noise but if you are noise sensitive or have a t.v. nearby forget about this model.

Recommendation:

  • Remember to buy the dishwasher installation kit
  • Professional installation (worth the money) but I guess this depends on where you live.
  • Extended warranty - with today's applicances it's a must if in...

The machine washes great, but I've found that sometimes the soap compartment doesn't open. Then the dishes are done, I open the door and there is a glob of detergent on the door, meaning that the cycle ran without dispensing the powder or gel. I have to run the load again. Oh, well. Now I put a detergent gel packets directly into the washer after it has run for a few minutes. It's annoying, but it does the job.

We replaced a 16 year old GE dishwasher with this Kenmore dishwasher (1374). We have had it about a month and we are very pleased. I especially like the rinse option that uses far less water than when I used to rinse before loading; I use this when loading all the dinner dishes but do not have a full load yet to run a wash cycle. This dishwasher holds a lot of dishes. It is quiet but not super-quiet, but we do not have a problem with that. If that is important to you, remember that it has the delay start option so you could set the dishwasher to start after you've gone to bed.

I find myselft using...

I have this Dishwasher just over two (2) years and it has consistently performed perfectly. The washing ability of this dishwasher is fantastic the best I have ever had and I have owned many other brands before this one.No matter what I put in they always  comes out so clean, dishes, glasses, pots and pans silverware and i NEVER rinse anything before I put it in. Even if they sit for several day which happens often because I am single and always try to run a full load. Loading is easy with the tall tub and the normal, smart-wash and turbo-wash all work flawlessly even getting all the baked on...

I have owned this dishwasher for a month now.  I wanted to give it that long before writing a review.

Our previous dishwasher was a GE.  We bought it to replace a Kenmore that had died  It was a huge mistake.  The thing never cleaned very well.  After 2 years we could not tolerate it any more.  Even though it was in good working order  we made the decision to replace it with this Kenmore model and couldn't be more pleased.  We finally have a dishwasher where the dishes don't have to be scrubbed to get them clean.  This dish washer just does the job without any pre-rinsing.  Occasionally...

This dishwasher is very quiet and cleans pretty well.  We have to remember to put the turbo on during the wash.  I have only had it for 3 weeks but it performs well and we can barely hear it and can watch TV during the wash cycle.  I don't understand people saying that it is loud.  It also has a huge tub so you can fit alot of dishes.

Kenmore products are known for their value and this product is no different. This product looks great, is quiet and efficient.

The best features are: the adjustable racks, the controls and energy efficiency. This is a product you know will last a long time and is affordable.

We purchased this dishwasher after much research and spent a fair amount of money on it.  Now, less than 3 years later, it has completely stopped working.  As time went on, the dishwasher kept getting louder and louder.  I finally got to the point where I would only run it when I was leaving the house.  Then water stopped entering the tub and it's completely unusable.  What a complete waste of money.  On top of that, my husband and I were never really thrilled with the way the machine cleaned our dishes.  Left residue on our glasses even with rinse aid and switch from liquid to powder detergent....

Squeaky Clean

Before I complete my review you need to know that my comparison is limited, as I am comparing this Kenmore dishwasher to a dishwasher that I know is/was 13 years old and most likely was the original dishwasher in this house and therefore could very well be over 20 yr old.  The installer did call it a 'classic'. So over the years technology has changed and we could very well expect that 'any' new dishwasher I would have purchased would have been an improvement.

I have used this dishwasher for less than 3 weeks and I am very impressed with how well it cleans the dishes.  I do not need to rinse...

Good workhorse of a dishwasher.  Runs very quietly and does a good job with all types of dishes as long as it is not overloaded. The rack for silverware is a great feature as it separates items resulting in uniformly clean silverware. The adjustable top shelf is really useful for oversized glasses and objects generally that need to be on the top rack.

While this model is a little more expensive than some, the added features are worth the extra especially when the dishwasher is typically run full and with a mixture of cooking utensils and dishes.

I purchased this because my portable Kenmore worked so well. This product does not clean as well as my 10 year old portable, and it's just about as noisey. The racks are not solid, the bottom rack hits one of the side water outlets and all the dishes jumble around when I push the rack in.  With every load there are some dishes that are not clean, and my glasses look awful, and the silverware does not look clean. I have to rinse and scrub some of my items before I put them in to wash.

Although I was satisfied at first, when I took a closer look, there are residue left on my cups! This is just gross and nasty. I thought buying a more expensive one would be better, but that was not the case this time. I had to pretty much hand wash all the dishes.
