“Be CAREFUL PURCHASING APPLIANCES FROM SEARS STORE #1090 ”
Be Careful if you buy any appliances from the Sears Store (#1090) Harlem & North Ave in Chicago. The Sales people are very rude, they are not very knowledgeable about what they sell, I personally had to find the washer & dryer on the floor for a very rude salesperson.Some of the other sales people were arguing with my sales person, because they thought she was taking all of the customers, I only dealt with my rude salesperson, because the other ones did not seem very focused, (they were probably bored because this store is usually empty) My sales person was bad mouthing the K-mart salesperson who had quoted a price on a discontinued washer and dryer, she pratically called me a liar, until I showed her a copy of the sales label from the Forest Park K-mart Store, she also questioned me when I asked to order an electric dryer to replace my existing electric dryer. *** Dryer on backorder, when it finally arrived, the front of the dryer was dented in, I was promised a replacement dryer the next morning, but the dates and times kept changing, everyone that I had spoken to in delivery told me something different, and my wife had to lose a days pay to wait for the evening delivery, even after we were promised a morning delivery several times by delivery managersdo not ask them to change the computer, they are governed by the computer and fear it, they are not allowed to use common sense to please the customer *** My salesperson said to me, "Why are you so upset, just plug in the damaged dryer, until the replacement arrives", she also told my wife during a conference call to the delivery center "I cannot talk to you anymore, I have more orders to write" I tried to call Sears Corporate Office to speak with a Senior Vice President, his staff was screening his calls. I kept getting transferred to a customer care department, who had very limited power, they were there to take the heat off of the executives. WORSE OF ALL I TRIED TO SPEAK WITH THE STORE MANAGER ,EVERYTIME YOU CALL THIS STORE YOU GET VOICEMAIL, THEY NEVER CALL YOU BACK.. I FINALLY SPOKE TO A APPLIANCE MANAGER, I TOLD THEM ABOUT ALL OF THE PROBLEMS THAT I HAVE HAD, THEY TOLD ME THAT AS A APPLIANCE MANAGER THEY HAD THE AUTHORITY TO MAKE THINGS BETTER, AND PROMISED TO TAKE $200.00 OFF OF MY ACOUNT AND ALSO THE $65.00 DELIVERY CHARGE, AFTER I THREATENED TO CANCEL THE SALE. AND EVEN PROMISED TO SEND ME A RECEIPT TO CONFIRM THIS. *** TODAY MAY 29,2009 AFTER SEVERAL MESSAGES, A APPLIANCE MANAGER CALLED AND SAID THAT THE BOSS THE STORE MANAGER REFUSES TO LET THEM DO THIS, SO THAT APPLIANCE MANAGER BASICALLY MISLED ME AND MY FAMILY TO SAVE A SALE. AND AFTER THE STORE MANAGER DID NOT RETURNI ANY OF MY CALLS AND REFUSED TO CREDIT MY ACCOUNT AFTER ALL OF THE PROBLEMS, IT IS APPARENT THAT THEY ARE NOT CONCERNED ABOUT THE CUSTOMER AFTER THE ORDER IS WRITTEN, THEY WILL PROMISE AND BASICALLY MISLEAD YOU TO GET THE SALE. I LEFT ANOTHER MESSAGE FOR THE STORE MANAGER TO CALL ME, I REALLY DOUBT THAT HE WILL BE THE PROFESSIONAL THAT HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE, IF HE REFUSES TO CALL ME, I AM GOING TO FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT AGAINST HIM WITH THE COMPANY FOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I AM ALSO FILING A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH SEARS AGAINST THAT APPLIANCE MANAGER FOR DELIBERATLY MISLEADING THE CUSTOMER. *** I PLAN TO PURSUE THIS WITH SEARS CORPORATE UNTIL I GET SOME RESULTS.
NOTE I LEARNED TODAY THAT YOU CAN REQUEST TO FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH SEARS AGAINST A EMPLOYEE OR DEPARTMENT. I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE WHO HAD HAD A NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SEARS STORE #1090 (HARLEM & NORTH AVES IN CHICAGO OR THE SEARS DELIVERY OFFICE IN CHICAGO TO CONTACT SEARS CORPORATE OFFICE ASAP. *** I HAVE ALSO ASKED SEARS CORPORATE TO EXAMINE HOW THIS STORE #1090 CAN BE RUN IN THIS MANNER BY THIS MANAGEMENT TEAM.
